Chronicle Books has an opening for a School and Library Associate Marketing Manager, Children’s, preferably in our San Francisco office, though applicants who are able to work in our New York City office will be considered.
The School and Library Associate Marketing Manager is responsible for Chronicle Books’ marketing strategy and efforts targeting all institutional channels. Together with the Children’s Marketing and Publicity team, they will develop and execute seasonal title marketing plans and review manuscripts and cover designs of upcoming projects.
The person in this role will manage Chronicle’s presence at all major librarian and educator conferences, including ALA Annual, TLA, and NCTE. They will coordinate author participation and speaking opportunities, plan entertainment, and organize staff itineraries. This individual will oversee all national and state annual award submissions while also researching new award opportunities.
The Associate Marketing Manager will also maintain the School and Library landing page with updated content, write the monthly educator and librarian e-newsletter, and book seasonal ads with trade publications. In collaboration with the Marketing Coordinator, they will create educator guides for select titles each season, help organize the seasonal preview, and oversee the School and Library catalog mailing. Requirements
Applicants will need 2-4 years of related work experience and they should be highly motivated with strong organizational skills and have a keen attention to detail. This role requires someone with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with all levels of the company and to take initiative while juggling varying responsibilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Airtable, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Photoshop is a plus, and the Associate Manager will need to be able to travel for work, as needed.
Employees at Chronicle Books follow a flexible hybrid schedule of working a minimum of 2 days per week and up to 4 days per week in our San Francisco or New York City office, depending on project and business needs.
Hiring Salary Range: $63,000 - $72,450. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the expected salary for this position and will be determined by factors including but not limited to: applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, and geographic location as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible for our profit share plan.
