Library Associate - Department Promotional - Shift - Library

Position Information
This is a Department Promotional Examination and is only open to eligible employees of the Kern County Library Department who have permanent status in the classified service.
Shift Work: Library branches may be open various days and hours of the week, to include evenings and weekends.
Examination Schedule

• Written Exam: will be conducted on August 17, 2023

Written Exam (Weight 100%): Will be conducted for the purpose of assessing the applicant's knowledge of library organization, procedures and policies; customer service principles; evolving technologies in the digital media field.
The Human Resources Division may solely conduct an appraisal of application materials should there be an insufficient number of candidates to warrant a written examination.
Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the exam process.
Minimum Qualifications/Employment Standards
Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor's degree.
Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License at the time of appointment.
Specialized California Driver's Licenses may be required depending upon assignment.
