Chief Technology Officer Description

Goldwater is seeking qualified applicants for the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead and manage the growth of our technology products, including our Platform and forthcoming mobile app.

The CTO will work closely with the CEO to build and enhance Goldwater’s software applications and execute our technology strategy across the U.S. and beyond.

The Goldwater SaaS Platform makes it easy for government water agency staff to plan, quantify conservation activities, communicate, and give cost-effective options to an unlimited number of constituent water utilities to reach shared water planning and conservation goals.

With states and cities across the nation grappling with water uncertainty, there is tremendous opportunity to scale this product with state water agencies and wholesale water providers.

Goldwater Platform for Wholesale Water Providers

The ideal candidate will have excellent technical expertise, a great network, ample experience, effective communication skills, and efficient deadline and team management.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Strong business development instincts
• Ability to advance the Goldwater SaaS Platform to an enterprise level application that can scale
• Expert written and spoken communication skills
• Backend API and Database: Node.js, Express, RethinkDB
• High-level understanding of mobile app development and integration with the Platform to deliver exciting and useful outputs to subscribers
• Proficient in UX/UI development as well as backend development
• 7+ years experience in full-stack software development, with the ability to program using the following technologies:
• Understanding of the water and wastewater industry a plus
• Experience and expertise in leading a team in strategy, benchmarking, organization, and management
• Development platform: MacOS, Ubuntu, Bitbucket, Amazon Web Services
• Expert understanding of API compatibilities among various software applications and ability to successfully integrate real-time data sources
• Self-starter and ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
• Application Layer: Full Stack JavaScript

Responsibilities:

• Assist in mobile app conceptualization, design, and execution
• Revamp aspects of the Platform’s UX/UI and data input capabilities
• Build new features and outputs for the Goldwater Platform
• Disrupt the way we share water data to ensure the planet has water for the future
• Assist in client services
• Provide expert strategy on the way forward for Goldwater’s technology products
• Lead API data integrations with real-time data sources
• Expand and modify existing outputs to maximize value for clients
