Chief Retail Officer (CRO)

A luxury, national furniture and design company that embodies style, innovation and luxury living is looking to hire a CRO to lead their omnichannel retail force in the Dallas, TX market.


ABOUT THE JOB:


Join our team as an innovative and visionary Chief Retail Officer, poised to lead our dynamic omnichannel retail force. Your influence will fuel revenue growth, extend market dominance, and drive excellence in our retail locations. As a dynamic leader, you'll guide retail general managers, optimize store performance, and transform the customer experience. This is your chance to wield strategic leadership, craft the future of our company, and orchestrate thriving sales initiatives. Encompassing luxury retail, interior design, and team leadership, you'll infuse design elegance with operational prowess, elevating customer experiences, fortifying brand loyalty, and igniting retail success.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


Team Leadership and Management:

  • Showcase quantifiable results and celebrated achievements that highlight the team's progress.
  • Collaborate closely with various design teams, interior designers, visual merchandisers, and graphic designers to provide guidance, mentorship, and creative direction to ensure cohesive brand representation.
  • Ensure that retail staff are well-informed about design trends, product features, and the brand's luxury identity.
  • Enable data-driven decision-making by providing insights into trends and patterns.
  • Deliver targeted training sessions to enhance skill sets and optimize performance.
  • Encourage continuous improvement through proactive analysis and action.
  • Foster a results-oriented culture where achievements are recognized and rewarded.
  • Instill a motivated atmosphere that ignites enthusiasm and dedication.
  • Fuel spirited competition by spotlighting performance metrics and benchmarks.
  • Devise an efficient system to ensure the seamless communication of daily, weekly, and monthly data to the sales team, harnessing the power of real-time information to:
  • Share industry-leading best practices that propel the team towards excellence.
  • Manage retail activities and store manager performance, including performance evaluations and employee discipline.
  • Collaborate with store managers to develop sales goals for each location, monitor progress towards those goals, and develop strategies to attract, convert, and retain customers.
  • Cultivate healthy competition that drives individual and collective growth.
  • Build, lead, and motivate a high-performing sales team, providing coaching, guidance, and professional development.
  • Strategically plan and execute frequent sales meetings and events, leveraging them as dynamic platforms to:


Sales Strategy and Planning:

  • Identify new market opportunities and target segments, adapting strategies as necessary to maximize revenue potential.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives, covering both B2C and B2B channels.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop territories, sales quotas, and strategies.


Omnichannel Sales Execution:

  • Establish and communicate the design vision and strategy that aligns with brand's identity and market positioning.
  • Identify areas for enhancement within each store, devising and implementing training programs, strategic initiatives, policies, objectives, and additional resources aimed at optimizing profitability and fostering unwavering customer loyalty.
  • Drive the execution of sales initiatives across various channels, including brick-and-mortar stores, e-commerce platforms, and wholesale channels for B2B clients.
  • Elevate the in-store experience, ensuring that the ambiance, lighting, and overall environment aligns with Cantoni’s luxury image, providing customers with a memorable and immersive experience.
  • Collaborate with store general managers and visual merchandisers to optimize store layouts and visual merchandising strategies. Create captivating displays that showcase products in an alluring and aspirational manner, enhancing the overall customer journey.
  • Analyze sales data and trends to make informed decisions, utilizing data-driven insights to optimize sales strategies, pricing, and product assortment.
  • Maintain high aesthetic standards across all touchpoints, ensuring that products, store displays, packaging, and marketing materials consistently uphold the brand's image.
  • Continuously assess and enhance sales processes, leveraging best practices and technologies to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and refine sales presentations to customers for maximum impact.


Customer Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key B2B clients, understanding their unique needs and delivering tailored solutions to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Actively engage with industry professionals, including architectural and design trade professionals, to foster collaborative relationships and leverage synergies for business growth.
  • Monitor customer feedback and market trends to proactively address issues and identify growth opportunities.
  • Utilize customer feedback as an essential source of insight. Collaborate with store teams to gather feedback from customers, incorporating this input into design refinements and retail strategies to continuously enhance the customer experience.


Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the sales department budget, allocating resources effectively to achieve revenue targets while controlling costs. Actively monitor and approve expenses.


Market Insights and Innovation:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences, integrating insights into sales strategies and product offerings, continuously providing feedback to our product sourcing team.
  • Stay well-informed about market trends, competition, and the latest best practices in sales techniques and strategies. Champion this knowledge within the team, encouraging them to stay equally informed and adapt these insights to drive proactive responses in our ever-evolving landscape.
  • Work closely with marketing to develop marketing programs and promotions to increase sales and/or introduce new products and services.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in luxury retail management, sales, or related roles, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong understanding of luxury retail dynamics and trends, particularly in the furniture or home decor sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Design, Marketing, or related field.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Familiarity with ecommerce and digital strategies for luxury brands.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to envision and execute innovative growth strategies.
  • Established network of industry contacts and relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and a demonstrated ability to close deals and secure strategic partnerships.
