Job Description
At Guild, we believe talent is everywhere and that opportunity should be too. We continue to have our home and headquarters in Denver, but we have embraced a distributed model of working to reach the best talent in the United States. While some roles may require proximity to our Denver office, roles based outside of our Denver office can sit in any of the following 31 states: AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, ID, IL, KS, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, NC, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, and WI. Please only apply if you are able to live and work full-time in one of the states listed above. State locations and specifics are subject to change as our hiring requirements shift.

Our Team Emphasizes Our Core Values In The Following Ways

At Guild, we uphold our Core Values in everything we do.

  • Nurture A Learner’s Mindset - using a combination of feedback and reflection to gain productive insight into personal strengths and development areas
  • Create Belonging - recognizing the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to our company
  • Build Shared Success - building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
  • Be an Owner - holding self and others accountable to meet commitments

We are looking for a Chief of Staff to work directly with our Chief Marketing Officer and our executive team. This Chief of Staff will serve as a thought partner and strategist, as well as a program manager and communications partner.. They will build shared context, drive clarity, and appropriately prioritize time, thought, and resources towards Guild’s key areas of focus.

Responsibilities Include

  • Serving as a proxy and advocate for the CMOs voice in key forums and meetings when required
  • Partnering with the CMO to build and maintain high functioning teams and environments
  • Communicating context to leaders and teams within Guild - so that they are empowered to make good decisions and solve problems at their level, reducing information cycles
  • Enable change management as our organization continues to evolve
  • Accelerate key strategic initiatives that strengthen business operations and culture for the CMO’s teams
  • Enabling and shepherd the CMO leadership teams’ execution of special projects
  • Using internal data and your own analytical skills to guide goal setting and tracking for your work streams and shared leadership initiatives
  • Leading the rhythm of business for our CMO’s teams both optimizing within the week and looking at horizons months out
  • Produce high-impact communications for the CMO, in partnership with all comms leaders and other cross-functional teams as relevant

Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Understanding of how to manage organizational change -- known for driving the operational and communications efforts needed to help move hearts and minds from one state to the next.
  • A highly collaborative approach -- you care less about who did it than how it got done. You take deep pride in shared outcomes and you really believe the whole is greater than the sum of the parts when it comes to team efforts.
  • A love of driving alignment - leaving personal agenda at the door. Serve as an ambassador, and seek to facilitate phenomenal conversations and decision-making processes to drive alignment across the leadership team and the broader company.
  • Excellent written and communication skills -- highly skilled in writing, a specialist in shorter vs longer summaries, and known for making outstanding content!
  • Experience as a functional/operational leader within a high growth organization -- comfortable with fast pace, deep collaboration, and independent decision making
  • A knack for structured thinking -- an ability to connect the dots between many disparate pieces of information to understand the full problem, and explain it simply
  • Something else? Wonderful, we’re curious to learn more about you!
  • A mastership of business storytelling -- known to align the message to meet the needs and prior context of the listener.
