RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY
This position is responsible for development and facilitation of sales training plans and programs to the organization’s sales trainees and personnel. Responsibilities include including the curriculum, material, execution of the training, contacting/scheduling internal or outside lecturers, as well as responsibilities on the full scope of Learning & Development. This role includes project management, development and auditing trainings, execution of programs, development of new program design and support for external/customer training resources.
PRIMARY ACTIVITIES
  • Manage vendor relations when applicable
  • Manage training budget
  • Manage IST (initial sales training) program courses for all new sales, marketing, case management and field clinical hires.
  • Develop and mentor Field Sales Trainers and any potential sales training support colleague.
  • Successfully lead and educate Account Executives with varying levels of industry experience, based on sound adult learning principles and identified business needs.
  • Drive ongoing learning needs analysis, design, scripting, development, assessment, implementation and evaluation of training materials to ensure alignment with business strategy
  • Perform other duties as may be required by management.
  • Collaborate with Compliance Officer to ensure compliance into all aspects of sales training.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of trends and changes in healthcare and perfusion.
  • Maintain and track training documentation, ensuring records are complete
  • Develop, design and facilitate training programs and materials for new and existing sales representatives that strengthen LivaNova's sales strategy
  • Model compliance throughout all activities and interactions.
  • Collaborate with sales management team to develop, design and implement product specific training curriculum and materials
  • Serve and lead cross functional collaborations with Sales and Marketing to jointly develop product positioning/messaging
  • Monitor training initiatives to ensure they result in desired performance enhancements and increase operational efficiencies. Measure effectiveness of training processes and ensures standardization of training processes.
  • Responsible for training new members of Cardiopulmonary team through a strategically designed and executed training course, including new Account Executives and new Regional Managers to LivaNova.
  • Manage, implement and facilitate training programs to include product and IMPACT sales effectiveness
  • Conduct customer visit onsite or vis field rides to obtain a better understanding of our sales process; incorporate knowledge into ongoing training programs
  • Perform training needs assessments in partnership with the leadership team and create targeted training programs to meet identified business needs.
  • Deliver effective facilitation, presentation, and coaching skills throughout training initiatives, providing constructive feedback to participants and managers as necessary.
  • Strategically align course objectives, content, and workshops to deliver on marketing and sales objectives.
  • Collaborate with product managers, marketing leadership, and clinical specialists to incorporate new products, messaging and content into programs and courses.
  • Develop and implement ongoing tools
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • This position may require moderate business travel of 20% or more of the time.
  • This is a remote position

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2+ years of experience in a sales training department in either medical device or pharmaceutical industry
  • Demonstrated, strong knowledge of training systems management, strategic planning, needs assessment, measurement and cost benefit analysis is required
  • Proven ability to understand business strategy; and translate it into learning solutions that support the company’s business goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong facilitation and platform skills
  • Proven track record in sales - either medical device or pharmaceutical industries preferred
  • BA or BS in business, adult education, or medical related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in curriculum development and delivery is required

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Successful experience in delivering educational training in an adult learning environment.
  • Understanding of the competencies of medical or pharmaceutical sales representative and able to teach desired competencies.
  • Strong clinical background
  • Five years or greater experience as a successful sales representative selling pharmaceuticals or medical equipment.
LEVELS AND EXPERIENCE
Level 1 – Sales Trainer
BA or BS in business, adult education, or related field and 3+ years experience as a sales trainer.
Level 2 – Sr. Sales Trainer
Same as Level 1 requirements and 3+ years applicable LivaNova experience.
For CO: The salary range for this role is $100-$130K + bonus
