Business Intelligence Engineer Intern

At Flip, we're a shopping social network connecting brands and shoppers through a marketplace powered by short form video reviews generated by real customers within the ecosystem. The platform combines a TikTok-like discovery experience with a premium e-commerce service, and a full suite of creator tools allowing every shopper on Flip to become a creator and monetize their content.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking to add a Business Intelligence Engineer Intern to our team who is passionate about working with raw data and turning it into functional tools that inform strategic decision making across the company. In this role, you will focus on building comprehensive reports and dynamic dashboards using Looker and similar BI tools, relying on your expertise in database querying. You won't just work with data; you'll engineer solutions that empower every team at Flip to visualize and interact with our vast pool of user and transaction data.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment
• Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Business, or a related field
• Experience with business intelligence reporting and visualization tools, including Looker and similar platforms
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
• Experience processing large scale datasets, analyzing data to solve business problems and presenting impactful insights to business teams
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights that influence product and business decisions
• Assist in ensuring data accuracy and consistency across multiple data sources
• Develop, maintain, and optimize Looker dashboards and visualizations in line with best practices to support various business needs
• Collaborate with teams across the organization to define metrics, gather requirements, and deliver data-driven insights
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements in BI to recommend process and tool improvements
