Tri Pointe Homes is looking for an experienced, detail orientated, problem solving individual to join our talented group as a Business Intelligence Developer in our Home Office!


Position Highlights: Under general direction of the Director of Business Intelligence, the Business Intelligence Developer will focus on data analysis, dashboards, reporting, and technical support. The business intelligence team will implement and support new data marts, dashboards, and reporting to serve business intelligence across all functions of the organization. You will partner closely with the business, developers, and contractors while helping set and enforce high quality standards. This role will have the opportunity to create and support technical solutions including dashboards to provide analytics, insights, interactivity, and a great user experience. You will be highly motivated to produce quality solutions with the ability to work on multiple projects at a time and be proactive in your problem solving.


Position Responsibilities


  • 40% Project / 40% Technical Support / 20% Admin, Personal & Team Improvement
  • Develop scalable, automated dashboards, reporting and visualization to provide benchmarking and progress against key performance goals and initiatives
  • Keeps team updated on projects and assigned work
  • Review and maintain technical runbooks; be back up support for technical processes and integrations
  • Handle technical administration activities including permissions and settings
  • Collaborate across internal teams
  • Data analysis, testing of development, understanding of data relationships
  • Develops prototypes
  • Assist team in issue resolution, root-cause analysis, and solution options
  • Maintains and enhances existing dashboard solutions to meet and exceed functionality and performance requirements


Position Qualifications


  • Knowledgeable in dashboarding and data visualization techniques
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to continually learn new concepts and technologies and effectively apply them
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working in a quick moving, dynamic team that is constantly iterating and improving their own work
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • 2+ years’ experience in developing business intelligence dashboards
  • Creative but able to understand and apply best practices to create high quality technical solutions
  • Believes in continuous improvement of solutions and self
  • Capable of operating in both traditional and agile project methodologies
  • Technical knowledge enterprise reporting technologies (Tableau, PowerBI, SSRS); Tableau certification a plus
  • Ability to understand and write complex calculations
  • Ability to read and write SQL
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, or engineering
  • Understanding of RDBMS / Data Warehouse platforms, on-premise and in the cloud (SQL Server, Oracle, AWS, Azure, Snowflake); able to understand a ERD or schema diagram

  • Bonus: This position is eligible for an annual performance-based cash bonus. Bonuses are earned, calculated and paid in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Company’s applicable incentive plan document.
  • Base Salary: The expected base salary range for this position is between $72,900-$121,300 per year, depending on experience and skillset. Base Salary is paid bi-weekly, every other Friday.
