Job Description

The Business Intelligence Department is looking for a detail-oriented individual in a Data Engineer role to design, build, and maintain data pipelines and data warehouse systems that enable the Airport Authority to efficiently collect, process, store, and analyze data from various sources. Enjoy a flexible telecommuting schedule (3 days remote, 2 days on-site) as you provide support for Data Science initiatives and:


  • Strong programming skills in Python, C#, or other programming languages commonly used in data engineering.
  • Develop and maintain databases, data warehouses, data lakes, documentation for all data pipelines, systems, and processes, ETL processes for integrating data from various sources.
  • Design, build and maintain data pipelines and systems that collect, process, store, and analyze data from various sources.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and develop scalable solutions that meet those needs. Optimize data storage and processing for performance and scalability.
  • Ensure data quality, security, and privacy by implementing appropriate data governance, audit, and security measures.
  • Basic understanding of advanced analytics techniques and machine learning algorithms, enabling them to prepare and process data for these applications
  • Remain current on emerging trends and technologies in data engineering, cloud computing, and database management. Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platforms.

  • Leveraging Technology: Effective use of electronic information and associated systems such as Tableau, Power BI. AWS, Azure, SQL, and/or NoSQL. Expertise in database management systems, such as SQL databases (e.g., Oracle, T-SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB). Skilled in data integration and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) or ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes. Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and technologies (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema, or columnar storage) to design and maintain efficient data storage solutions. Proficient in data quality management and cleansing techniques, ensuring that data is accurate, consistent, and reliable for analysis.

Requirements


Required Education, Training and Experience:


  • Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in computer science, information systems, or closely related field.
  • Three years of experience in data engineering or a related field.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • One year or more experience with cloud computing platforms.
  • Five years or more experience with database management systems such as SQL, or Hadoop.
  • Two years or more experience with ETL tools and processes.
  • Experience in the aviation industry or with airport operations is preferred.
  • Graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Big Data Analytics or related field.


The starting hiring salary for his position is $108,460.


Pay range for a Data Engineer is $92,701 to $148.322.
