Job Description
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
  • Edits and proofreads other team members’ translations meticulously.
  • Prioritizes individual work load to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.
  • Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Adjustment in the scope of responsibilities as outlined above which will be in the best interest of the school district.
  • Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives and parameters found in the Board’s strategic plan.
  • Provides professional oral interpretation services at designated school functions including, but not limited to Special Education meetings, discipline meetings, parent teacher conferences and Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Carries out project management duties of translation and interpretation requests from schools and departments accurately and efficiently.
  • Provides oral interpretation via 3-way conference calls between district staff and parents; facilitates 3-way conference calls for other languages with contracted language specialists.
  • Provides quality written translations of District documents and publications from English to Spanish, including but not limited to student handbooks, discipline referrals, Special Education documents, flyers, brochures, newsletters, and curriculum materials.
  • Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
