Be on-call to respond call/texts and are available for support clients in between visits.

Minimum of four (4) years of experience in language interpretation in the mode required by the assignment.

Qualifying scores ILR 3 minimum or equivalent on language/translation tests.

Know specialized vocabulary (and terminology) in both English and the foreign language related to the Government’s varied roles and missions.

Speak in English and foreign language fluently, including regionalisms and colloquial slang without altering meaning.

Interpret in a manner that is factually and conceptually accurate without changes, omissions, or additions.

Minimum Experience: 2 years of medical interpretation. Spanish/English.

Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED. Completion of medical interpretation competency test.

Provides oral interpreting services for Texas Children's hospital areas including: inpatient, outpatient, day surgery and emergency center.

Performing client/customer intake reception at six entry points within three Divisions;

Uses computer, software, and internet tools for research, data entry, and other communication purposes within the work environment.

Hold an interpreting certification in other fields (e.g. court interpreter)

Have 2 years of experience as a professional medical interpreter

Bachelor's Degree. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

National Certification as a Medical Interpreter though either NBCMI or CCHI; Utah certification for Medical Language Interpreter through DOPL.

Two years of experience as a professional medical interpreter.

Performs a variety of administrative tasks training and education within the Health System.

In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
