  • In partnership with the Senior Director of Data and Development Operations, conduct testing, analysis, and optimization of communication efforts.
  • Drive campaign strategy via the creation and execution of compelling and timely fundraising campaigns across all channels to achieve donor growth and retention, and department revenue goals.
  • Define responsive strategic communications priorities by leading the development of organization-wide values statements, Safe Horizon’s stances on core issues, and external calls to actions following relevant breaking news.
  • Work across the organization to identify narrative change opportunities related to Safe Horizon’s mission and build holistic communications strategies to affect change.
  • Identify new opportunities for investment in marketing and communications and make recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Partner with video production, design, and digital vendors to bolster creative and implement best marketing practices.
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values initiative, collaboration, and creativity.

Qualifications:

  • Experience navigating large, complex organizations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to anti-racism and experience communicating with, and on behalf of, diverse demographic groups.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to handle multiple projects and tasks, often in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Substantial staff leadership and mentoring experience.
  • Genuine appreciation for Safe Horizon’s mission.
  • Deep knowledge of effective communications strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • A minimum of eight years of related experience in communications, digital strategy, marketing and/or external affairs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of breaking down complex issues into accessible, compelling, and actionable content.
  • Exceptional judgment and integrity.

If hired, I agree to abide by all of Safe Horizon’s rules and regulations, and understand that, if employed, my employment may be terminated with or without cause, and with or without notice, at any time, at the option of either the company or me. I further understand that no representation, whether oral or written by any representative or agent of the organization, at any time, constitutes a contract of employment.
