RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare initiation reports to provide sell-side research about bonds / loans and make investment recommendations accordingly.
• Directly interact with management team by participating in company conference calls and attending investor / sector-focused conferences.
• Initiate and build relationships with clients to develop a network of contacts appropriate to the industry and companies covered.
• Collaborate cross product to broaden skill set and enhance analysis to support investment thesis.
• Assist senior research analyst in financial modeling, qualitative analysis and fundamental research on companies in Chemicals, and Paper and Packaging sectors.
• Learn the fundamentals of the asset class or product that is covered by the team.
• Perform debt covenants analysis on credit agreements to understand the requirements and restrictions of company debt and assess company's going concern.
• Perform qualitative risk assessment to identify and evaluate risks on company and debt level.
• Perform analytical procedures on performance statistics to identify and evaluate the drivers of company earnings results.
• Work collaboratively with traders, sales, equity research, capital markets, leveraged finance, operations, and tech/support teams to deliver the entire franchise.
• Develop and enhance financial models by aggregating and analyzing financial data from company filings including 8K/10Q/10K using Bloomberg and EDGAR.
• Prepare Chemicals, and Paper and Packaging weekly and quarterly reports and presentations which include investment thesis, major news and events, analysis of relative values, and information on comparable companies.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must include 2 years of experience in each of the following:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Accountancy, Finance, Economics, or related; and
• 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related finance occupation.
• Performing analytical procedures on performance statistics to identify and evaluate the drivers of company earnings results;
• Developing and enhancing financial models by aggregating and analyzing financial data from company filings including 8K/10Q/10K using Bloomberg and EDGAR;
• Performing debt covenants analysis on credit agreements to understand the requirements and restrictions of company debt and assess company's going concern; and,
• Performing qualitative risk assessment to identify and evaluate risks on company and debt level.
