Newmark is seeking a highly motivated, hardworking Senior Research Analyst to support the firm's national Multifamily Capital Markets business. The role will be based in New York City, partnering closely, and reporting directly to the Head of Multifamily Research. The Senior Research Analyst will be responsible for the production of quarterly reports, formulating data-driven insights, assisting with day-to-day requests, and other research initiatives.
Essential Duties
- Generate materials for industry-leading, New York City based investment sales team.
- Partner with Head of Multifamily Research to provide best-in-class research services to Newmark’s national Multifamily Capital Markets platform.
- Fulfill day-to-day research requests from top investment sales and debt producers, as well as valued clients.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
- Leverage third-party data to provide high-level market analysis.
- Provide regular updates to Multifamily management on industry developments.
- Manage quarterly “House View” research report production process.
- Prepare slides for client presentations and pitches.
- Responsible for building out research content deliverables for alternative residential sectors such as student housing, seniors housing, single family rentals (SFR) and build-to-rent (BFR).
Skills, Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Real Estate, Economics, Finance or Business Administration.
- Familiarity with Real Capital Analytics, RealPage, Green Street, Trepp and NCREIF preferred.
- Knowledge of macroeconomics and its impact on commercial real estate.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
- Strong communication and analytical skills, ability to create concise content.
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in commercial real estate research, analytics, or related field.
- General understanding of equity and debt markets.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required. PowerBI skills a plus.
