The Impact You Will Have

Zelman & Associates is seeking Data & Analytics Research Associate in its New York City office to work directly with senior executives of one of the leading housing-related research firms on Wall Street. The position will utilize the strength of both Walker & Dunlop and Zelman to provide analytics related to housing, economics and publicly-traded equities.

Primary Responsibilities

• Apply problem solving, pattern detection, and root cause analysis to a wide range of data- and technology-related issues in a fast-paced environment
• Create, maintain, and upgrade systematic, automated processes, tools and analyses that allow the Zelman Research team to seamlessly incorporate large data sets into their investment analysis processes and research reports; collaborate with team members to implement these in most impactful and efficient manner
• Analyze and curate massive amounts of data related to housing, economics and publicly-traded equities

Education And Experience

• Experience in a programming language, Python preferred
• 1+ years of applicable work experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or quantitative discipline
• CFA Candidacy, helpful but not required

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Ability and willingness to independently learn new technology- and data science-related skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases, Power BI, geospatial analytics, data science and machine learning algorithms, and various cloud computing resources a plus
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Demonstrated interest in economics, financial markets and technology

This position has an estimated base salary of $100,000.00 - $120,000.00, depending on longevity of experience and relevance of experience to position duties, education, and other business considerations.
