Job Overview
The Associate, Private Brands Portfolio Management is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and assessing brand health and performance within a segment of Macy’s Private Brands portfolio to inform decision making and action.
You will partner with the Director, Private Brands Portfolio Management on all research needed to manage brands lifecycle inclusive of new brand builds, category expansion within a brand, and exiting brands. You will play a critical role in supporting internal team awareness and adherence to the established private brand guidebooks and guardrails through training and content development.
Essential Functions
- Work with merchant and finance teams to measure and analyze brand sales impact and profitability/ROI
- Partner with the Director, Private Brands Portfolio Management to support ongoing brand analysis and develop key processes and tools
- Partner with customer insights to monitor, analyze, and report consumer, competitive, category, customer, and channel activities to uncover actionable insights that lead to white space or growth opportunities for the brands
- Create strong governance and adherence of brand lifecycle management through integrated model touchpoints and cross functional trainings – support work through building presentations and managing timelines
- • Build, maintain, and aid in the reporting of brand health trackers and education of cross functional teams
- Establish customer and brand love through quantitative and qualitative research and learning
Competencies
Experience
- Dashboard creation, data visualization and storytelling
- 4-5 years of professional experience in Retail, Brand Management, Design, Marketing, Merchandising, Strategy, or other function that closely touches brand identity or the customer experience
Leadership
- Strong business acumen with exceptional communication skills
- Effective cross functional collaborator with proven ability to work against aggressive timelines and meet deadlines
- Experience managing up when needed and providing operational excellence for Director and broader team
Other Skills
- Beneficial if comfortable working in Canva
- Comfortable reading, assessing and organizing market share data and opportunities
- Strong research skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs
- Thrives managing multiple workstreams and can prioritize based on business needs
- Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, and Power Point
- Ability to make decisions independently and work under general direction
- Relentless customer focus; shares team mindset that no ask for our customer is too big or too small
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Entrepreneurial spirit; constantly holding self and team members to high standard and comfortable iterating and evolving
