Ares is currently seeking candidates for the Associate role within our Direct Lending Group in our New York City office.

We are one of the largest self-originating direct lenders to the U.S. middle market. Our direct lending business in the U.S. is conducted through Ares Capital Corporation (NASDAQ: ARCC), a leading specialty finance company, and certain private funds and accounts. ARCC is the largest business development company in the United States by both market capitalization and total assets.

Primary Functions And Essential Responsibilities

The Associate will provide post-closing portfolio management and investment monitoring. The associate will help manage and streamline the data analytics and reporting for Direct Lending Portfolio Management and the Product Management and Investor Relations team.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Collaborate with the Investor Relations and Product Management team while maintaining a data driven focus on investor requests, reports, pitches and presentations in relation to performance and updates
• Managing and reviewing investment, fund and portfolio reporting for internal and external use including valuations and performance track record
• Analyzing investment performance including maintaining and updating investment valuations and financial models as well as keeping track of relevant current market activities
• Additional duties include providing direct support as deemed necessary by senior management
• Reconcile data and lead coordination to resolve any breaks
• Streamline and centralize the data collection process across different groups including Finance, Accounting, Legal, Tax, Deal team, Compliance and Technology

Qualifications

• Self-motivated and driven; ability to work effectively in a collegial, fast moving, demanding, and dynamic environment.
• Experience with PowerBI or other data visualization software, databases such as SQL and Microsoft Office
• Advanced MS Excel modeling skills (v-lookup, macros, pivot tables) and MS PowerPoint skills
• Experience with Intex, VBA, C++ and Python is preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant investment banking, analytics, consulting or principal investing experience
• Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent require

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

$95,000.00 - $125,000.00
