Job Overview
Macy’s has launched an online Marketplace and we are seeking an Associate, Marketplace Operations who will support with enhancing the Marketplace experience, including troubleshooting, developing standard SLAs, and identifying platform enhancements that will drive seller success. This individual will leverage their robust analytical skills and deep understanding of Marketplaces to develop, define and drive the operations of our Marketplace across Macy’s. Internally, this individual will work closely with cross functional partners to identify process improvements and drive alignment on new processes and goals. Externally, this role will work directly with our Marketplace platform provider and our sellers to continuously enhance operations and ensure a best-in-class marketplace experience for our sellers and customers.
Essential Functions
- Manage strategic projects or initiatives to improve marketplace performance
- Set and monitor marketplace KPIs to ensure positive customer and seller experiences
- Essential Functions Support the Director, Marketplace Seller Operations in ensuring successful execution of the Marketplace business strategy.
- Develop deep knowledge of the Macy’s brand and customers to ensure the marketplace reflects appropriately.
- Establish and continuously improve internal and external processes
- Partner with product and technology teams to advocate for roadmap priorities that enhance the marketplace experience
Qualifications and Competencies
- Maintains confidentiality and security of sensitive company information.
- Ability to solve problems with internal and external stakeholders and be a self-starter who can thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Have a bias for action and act with deliberate speed.
- Ability to effectively share technical information, communicate technical issues and solutions to all levels of business.
- Salesforce experience is a plus.
- Possess knowledge of, and passion for, digital commerce and specifically marketplace platforms. Previous experience growing an online marketplace is a plus.
- Customer-centric mindset and experience with cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability and desire to take product/project ownership.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and project management skills with a strong sense of urgency to support the growth of a new emerging business.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects - can identify primary and secondary objectives, prioritize tasks, and communicate informative updates to team members.
- We encourage candidates with either a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field to apply.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs.
- Track record of demonstrating success with projects improving business operations and driving performance.
- Ability to think creatively, strategically, and technically.
Physical Requirements

• Frequent use of computers and other technology necessary to perform job duties, including handheld electronic equipment.
