About The Role
As an Assistant Manager of Academic Success, you will scale your impact by leading part-time academic teams of instructors and mentors to deliver transformative live-online learning experiences to the next generation of web developers. This role serves as the learning experience owner and is the frontline support for all members of the learning team: Students, Instructors, and Mentors.
You will manage all academic operations and instructional teams across multiple cohorts, engaging with students and instructional teams to ensure positive, dynamic, and student-centered learning experiences meet the needs and exceed the expectations of our adult learners.
This role reports to the Manager of Instructional Teams. It is supported by the larger academic and product team to ensure an exceptional experience for each student and instructional team member in the cohort. Classes are delivered synchronously and are 100% online. As the Assistant Manager of Academic Success, you will help prepare students and instructional teams for a successful cohort. This role is full-time and remote.
Please note: the ability to flex hours and work "second shift" while classes are live and in session is critical to support our part-time instructional team members. This is an expectation of the person in this role.
Overview of Role
Assistant Managers of Academic Success are stewards, role models, and brand ambassadors. Assistant Managers of Academic Success are critical members of the Academic Team dedicated to ensuring positive and transformative student learning experiences at the cohort level through student and staff support. They follow high standards to drive outcomes and motivate the students they serve to achieve competence, confidence, and career readiness. Encourage teamwork, promote consistency, and lead staff by modeling fairness and collaboration.
Responsibilities
  • Act as a strategic consultant and first line of defense to troubleshoot course & technical content related queries or clarification needs for instructors and students
  • Ideate on proactive solutions
  • Serve as point person and lead for the cohort instructional team
  • Strategically gather and analyze feedback from instructional team members and students to drive continuous improvement of the learning experience.
  • Facilitate team sync meetings with notes about student progress, concerns, and celebrations
  • Oversee day-to-day activities of several bootcamp cohorts to ensure we are delivering on our brand promise of an exceptional learning experience
  • Manage escalations and respond to learner queries with the right resolution
  • Liaise with cross functional departments to:
  • Address cohort instructional team scheduling needs
  • Manage regular communication with students to align on progress, and expectations, celebrate milestones and address concern areas
  • Escalate concerns and roadblocks
  • Manage withdrawal/transfer of students
  • Manage and track information across multiple platforms to monitor and report on success and noteworthy themes related to NPS, retention, employee time
  • Manage classroom satisfaction, measure student engagement, and guide/coach students to ensure they graduate career-ready
  • Leverage data to identify opportunities
  • Innovate on process and policy
  • Manage regular communication with cohort instructional team members to align expectations, celebrate milestones, and address concern areas
Qualifications
  • Experience working in a growth environment and being comfortable with a dynamic role and set of responsibilities
  • Experience managing others a plus
  • Great attention to detail and project management skills
  • A passion for the tech industry and a desire to impact lives and business outcomes
  • CUSTOMER FOCUSED:
  • A magnetic personality combined with a positive attitude, collaborative zest, and professionalism
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in tech field or education field
  • Experience using learning management systems, project management tools and the like
  • A track record of delivering outstanding customer and stakeholder satisfaction
  • The ability to operate and execute independently while collaborating virtually with internal teams and leadership to get the support you need to drive success
  • PASSIONATE:
  • 1-year experience in a technical role - web development, data analytics, or cybersecurity
  • 1+ years of experience in education, teaching, instructional coaching, academic operations or learning and development
  • TECH SAVVY:
  • Familiarity with the Fullstack curriculum is a bonus!
  • RESULTS-DRIVEN:
Equal Pay For Equal Work Act disclosure:
The expected compensation for this role for candidates is $65,000 - $68,500, plus benefits, for candidates who fulfill the qualifications for the role. Candidates whose qualifications are above those listed are encouraged to apply as well. All final offers to candidates will be based on that candidate's unique experience and skillset, and not all candidates will qualify for the top of the salary range.
