As an instructor, you will play a crucial role in fostering student engagement, supporting their diverse needs, and promoting inclusive excellence throughout your teaching practice.
Key Responsibilities
Uphold the vision, mission, and values of the college, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Deliver high-quality instruction in assigned online courses, employing effective lesson plans, activities, and assessments that lead to successful student outcomes.
Stay informed about online pedagogy, retention strategies, and inclusive teaching practices, participating in coaching and mentoring opportunities.
Foster student success through inclusive, accessible, and engaging instruction, tailored to the diverse needs of students with varying levels of preparedness.
Implement current teaching and learning practices, integrating diverse sources and perspectives into the curriculum, and demonstrating cultural competency.
Develop and provide course syllabi within defined timelines, adhering to departmental guidelines and utilizing the college's learning management system (LMS).
Maintain accurate records and evaluate student performance in a timely and constructive manner.
Actively participate in departmental and college-wide assessment practices, contributing to the ongoing improvement of instructional effectiveness.
Engage in required professional development activities, including orientation and trainings.
Embrace and uphold the college's vision, mission, and values, complying with all relevant guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in English (Composition, Rhetoric, or Literature) or a related content area with 18 graduate credit hours in English.
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching.
Willingness to learn and incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in instruction.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching online college-level courses.
Previous experience teaching in a setting.
Knowledge and understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion in instruction.
Familiarity with supporting multi-lingual learners.
This is a part-time position, offering flexibility through online instruction. The compensation for this role is $1011.00 per credit hour. We encourage interested candidates to apply promptly as applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until all positions are filled.
