The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) is seeking dedicated candidates to fill important roles within our department. POSITION DUTIES
For Our CJIS Unit
The Private & Government Provider Manager position/Administrator III is to oversee the operations of the CJIS Storefront, CJIS MVA Hazmat locations, private and Government live scan fingerprinting providers. This position interprets and applies the laws, regulations, policies & procedures relating to live scan operations throughout the State of Maryland. This position manages the supervisor of the CJIS Storefront unit, the Private Provider Coordinator and Government Provider Coordinator. It also recommends changes to operations to improve efficiency and effectiveness in accomplishing the mission of the agency. It makes recommendations to upper management concerning new or revised legislation concerning the agency.
Future Vacancies
  • Interprets and applies or oversees the application of agency policies, rules and regulations to accomplish the work of the unit or division.
  • Prepares reports, evaluation, charts, and other documentation.
  • Coordinates workflow with administrators of other units in areas of work spanning multiple units.
  • Performs other related duties.
  • Coordinates leave and staff coverage of unit or division.
  • Plans, organizes and supervises the work of subordinate staff, which may include professional, technical, administrative or clerical workers.
  • Sets goals and deadlines and oversees the workflow of the unit.
  • Directs or assists in the direction of the daily operations of a unit or division.
  • Evaluates efficiency of operations and develops, revises and recommends new policies, standards, and workflow procedures, using new technology where appropriate.
  • Implements new regulations and policies as directed by upper management.
Minimum Qualifications
Education : Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience : Six years of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.
Desired Or Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Proficiency such as: use advanced functions (VLOOKUP, IF, IS), work with pivot tables, manage macro commands, build presentations and work with a Design template.
  • Experience assembling, collecting and compiling basic statistical data from regularly scheduled reports, fields visits, existing records or completed questionnaires.
  • Experience developing and managing multiple projects with team collaboration.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
