Job Description

The Systems Administrator supports Norseman’s corporate infrastructure and end user community, as well as the development of solutions to support corporate system security or issues being experienced by our end user community. One will collaborate with corporate leadership, engineering, and technical support resources to ensure proposed corporate infrastructure is secure and available and report directly reports to the NDT Director of Engineering.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support Norseman IT lab activities, including installation and maintenance of hardware and software
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
  • Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
  • Set up accounts and workstations
  • Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
  • Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
  • Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
  • Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies, software, and procedures
  • Upgrade systems with new releases and models
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and manuals
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues


ACCOUNTABILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES

  • Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards
  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
  • Completes required training and development objectives within the assigned time frame
  • Responsible for corporate infrastructure adherence to company security policies
  • Supports corporate leadership and end users
  • Training and development tasks to be assigned/tracked for the Director of Engineering and relate to product certifications and/or technical development


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have experience administering Microsoft Azure architecture, including Office 365, Active Directory, and Exchange Server
  • System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus
  • Proficiency with productivity tools such as the MS Office Suite
  • Minimum six years of systems administration experience in a business environment
  • Four year college degree from an accredited institution preferred
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
  • Must be local to Baltimore, MD area and able to work at our headquarters office environment when required
