Job Description
Summary You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the Sensors, Weapons and Launchers Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, located in Port Hueneme, CA. Responsibilities You will serve as a Team Lead, applying your experience with task management, training, and effective technical leadership to support the work and personnel of the Branch. You will support all Department programs and assist engineering and logistics teams in maturing combat systems design, validating operational performance, and delivering sustainable systems for the fleet. You will analyze projects into phased approach, developing a timely and systematic plan for project milestones, providing cost/time estimates, maintaining an integrated schedule, and identifying risks to the program as it relates to logistic design. You will lead personnel with a variety of logistics expertise in developing and implementing programmatic requirements from acquisition through phase out. You will develop and update logistics planning documents, define system supportability requirements, evaluate program documentation for logistics impacts, establish and maintain logistics program databases, and participate in working groups. You will maintain direct and professional relationships with key customers and stakeholders holding periodic meetings to ensure expected products and services will be delivered on time and with the highest quality. You will lead technical reviews of processes and products to support program, system, and project deliverables. You will work with technical documentation and represent the Command and the Navy in establishing business rules and implementing Technical Manual Management Program requirements. You will execute the acquisition, production, distribution, and overall lifecycle management of Technical Manuals, Engineering Drawings, and other technical data using government, commercial, and international standards. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent the next lower pay band NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalency) or grade level in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector managing or leading Integrated Logistics Support or Logistics Element Management program logistical actions (e.g., planning, executing, preparing, reviewing, coordinating, or evaluating) in support of acquisition or sustainment programs for surface combat or weapon systems. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-13 and GS-14. The salary range shown in the announcement represents all of the positions within the band, including GS-14 equivalent (high grade) positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10, currently $ 148,255 per year. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
