Note: Work schedule for this position will be 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with flexibility to meet departmental needs. Applicant selected for hire will be required to acquire working knowledge of and the ability to utilize Banner, via training provided subsequent to hire. Description of Job


This Position Will


Position will support and serve as liaison between the Communication, Humanities, Arts and Design School's directors, department chairs, faculty, instructors, students, Dean, College personnel and Vice President of Instruction in addition to advising students, both current and prospective, about the CHAD program requirements.


  • Between all instructional Schools, clarify program-specific processes, rationales and procedures to instructors and new full-time faculty and assist with orientation and events as requested.
  • Support and contribute to CHAD and College retention goals by advising students and responding to student inquiries, record and monitor concerns, and formulate solutions to these concerns by interpreting and communicating institutional procedures and instructional rules. Resolve and/or refer student complaints.
  • Determine accuracy and completeness of contracts for full and part-time faculty and instructors; input data and verify accuracy. Resolve any contract/payroll discrepancies with Human Resources. Create teaching contracts for all faculty in Banner.
  • Seamlessly serve all students, faculty, and staff seeking assistance, regardless of the specific School involved in any inquiry.
  • Banner data entry; prepare and post appropriate signs. Create correspondence, documents, spreadsheets and forms using a variety of computer software such as Microsoft Office and Office 365 to include Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive, and Teams, and input information into the Banner student information system.
  • Collect, enter, and verify class schedules each semester and ascertain that all information and codes (course credit, mode of delivery, site, course type, max enrollment number, and waitlist option) are correct. Implement and improve School schedule development process for Banner.
  • Support and contribute to School and College program recruitment and retention goals by managing and implementing recruitment and retention activities for CHAD programs; develop recruitment information with the chairs including brochures, program advisory guides and program information sheets for students; participate in recruitment activities as requested.
  • Maintain various databases and data retrieval, including generating management reports from the data, for the School.
  • Serve as designated purchasing authority for School office supplies; order, sign for and reallocate purchases adhering to purchasing department procedures and deadlines.


Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions Of Employment & Appeal Rights


Minimum Qualifications: Thirty-six months (36) of clerical experience as listed above and performed as the primary function of the job. Daily interaction with students, faculty and staff require that this position have strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Computer literacy is a must. Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary for success in this position. Do not use "see resume" statements in application. Your application must be completed in detail, showing relevant experience in order to be considered. Part time experience will be prorated.


Substitutions: College, university, or non-correspondence business school course work from an accredited institution in Business or related field may substitute for the clerical experience as listed above on a year for year basis. A copy of your transcript verifying the required credits must be submitted at the time of applying in order to be considered.

Preferred Qualifications: Please provide a detailed description on your application of your relevant work experience and document examples of your work in relation to the following: Experience involving a wide range of clerical responsibilities. Working knowledge of Banner or similar system. High level of speed and accuracy regarding data entry. Attention to detail (ability to check for typographical, grammatical and spelling errors, etc.). Experience and ability to work in a fast paced customer service and data entry environment, and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting targeted deadlines. Experience with problem solving processes. Understand and determine appropriate rules and regulations from various sources. Knowledge in extracting information from various reports. Prior work experience at a community college or other academic environment. Ability to deal with a diverse population with discretion and tact.
