Admin Services Coordinator - Anesthesia Education (50%)

The Administrative Service Coordinator for the Anesthesia Education Team will provide administrative services and support for selected fellowship programs. This is a 50% role (20 hours/week). This position is responsible for assisting in the management of education programs, projects, and events within the department as assigned. This position requires managing and prioritizing multiple responsibilities and tasks, including schedules, correspondence, academic lectures, and coordination of resident or fellow interviews. Ability to exercise independent judgment, take initiative, work independently, and exhibit flexibility and high degree of organization while executing high quality work and meeting deadlines is critical.

What You Will Do

• Ensure that ACGME requirements for each fellowship are being followed.
• Coordinate daily activities related to program, including but not limited to, tracking conference attendance, posting lectures and meetings, initiating evaluations, and running reports.
• Build productive working relationships with education team and faculty.
• Proactively identify, facilitate, and coordinate resources needed for assigned programs, projects, or events.
• Set up interviews, create itineraries, coordinate travel arrangements, and facilitate interview days.

Required Qualifications

What you will need:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required including ability to compose communications and grammatically correct documents in a concise, logical, and organized manner.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Demonstrate careful attention to detail and accuracy, strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks quickly and effectively, properly establish priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proficient in computer software applications (Microsoft Office) to include SQL and MS Access databases.

Desirable Qualifications

• Familiarity with the ePro, ProTrav, Epic, APR, and QGenda systems.
• Six months to one year experience coordination or managing graduate medical education (residency or fellowship) program.
• Previous experience working in a college/university/or healthcare setting is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures.
