Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Education Core Coordinator will work with the Community Engagement, Environmental Justice and Health (CEEJH) team and T.H.E. EJ lab led by Dr. Sacoby Wilson, a national expert on environmental justice and community science. The Education Core Coordinator will assist the team in a variety of tasks related to education and training.
Responsibilities include:
  • Support training efforts with CEEJH/T.H.E. EJ Lab partners
  • Provide routine program logistics/maintain requirements or activities to ensure quality of programs
  • Coordinate the Education Core activities for the CEEJH team and T.H.E. EJ Lab
  • Manage the Climate Justice Fellows Program
  • Develop outreach materials and infographics on environmental justice and health issues for policymakers, government agencies, and the lay population
  • Manage the EJ Summer Scholars Program
  • Assist the Community Engagement Core team with outreach and engagement efforts related to environmental justice and health issues
  • Lead the planning and implementation of workshops, seminars, trainings, symposia, and conferences
  • Support preparation of partnership agreements, IRB applications, and related information
  • Lead efforts to evaluate educational programming
  • Assist with program planning, development and implementation
  • Lead the development of educational materials for impacted residents, students, and other stakeholder groups who reside in frontline and fenceline communities


Applicants will also be expected to help with the development of grant proposals particularly education-related proposals, manuscripts for publication, and participate in other Center activities on an as needed basis.
Salary is $65,000-$80,000 full time per year

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
MS degree.
Experience:
3 years of experience in one or more of the following fields:
  • Environmental Health
  • Health Disparities
  • Environmental Justice
  • Health Education
  • Health Literacy
  • Health Behavior
  • Environmental Education
  • Community Health

Preferences:
Preferences:
  • Anti-racism education training.
  • 5+ years of experience organizing workshops, symposia, and conferences.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing internship, fellowship, and training programs.
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Science Education Training.
  • 5+ years of experience developing educational programming in STEM.
