Job Description
Providing leadership, direction, and management of Anesthesia assets, supplies, and staff in support of patient care initiatives for all Anesthetizing locations on all shifts throughout UIHC.


What You Will Do


  • Supervises the work of Clinical Technicians for all Anesthetizing locations on all shifts, shifting resources to demand in various parts of the hospital. Implements service expectations into employee onboarding checklists to ensure compliance goals are met.
  • Coordinate with human resources staff on the recruitment, hiring and training of staff within all Anesthesia Workroom locations throughout UIHC.
  • Develop and implement operational guidelines for Anesthesia workroom staff.
  • Determine the proper scheduling of staff to ensure proper clinical coverage to meet patient care needs.
  • Assure staff are compliant with UI policies and procedures. Monitors/ensures all merit staff is current with compliance in CQ.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to site leads for daily operational initiatives in support of patient care.

Required Qualifications


  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting and leading a diverse work environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in a health care or business-related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Minimum of three (3) years of direct supervisory experience


Desirable Qualifications


  • Experience with operational improvement initiatives
  • Minimum of three (3) years administrative/leadership experience within a complex health care environment, i.e.: academic medical center, large hospital, or large health care system
  • Experience with People Soft and/or Oracle purchasing software systems
  • Experience with EPIC or a similar electronic medical record system
  • Experience with budgeting and cost accounting
  • Master’s degree in Health Care Administration or Business Administration preferred
