Job Description
Financial Operations Manager - Eyewear and Head Protection Group

We are currently seeking a skilled Financial Operations Manager to join our team. In this integral role, you will collaborate across departments, lead the monthly financial close cycle, and oversee the accounting operations of four entities within North America. Your focus on financial accuracy and integrity will be essential, and you will report directly to the Controller. This position is based at our North American headquarters in Carlsbad, California.
Responsibilities
  • Leadership of Accounting Operations:
Manage banking transactions and cash flow
Oversee accounts payable and disbursements
Review payroll, commissions, prepaids, fixed assets, reserves, and accruals
Supervise a dedicated accounting team
  • Development of Accounting Processes:
Establish internal controls for enhanced efficiency and risk mitigation
Implement best practices and process improvements
Prepare and review consolidated GAAP/IFRS financial statements through rigorous analysis, document preparation, validation, and reconciliation processes
  • Monthly Close and Reporting:
Drive monthly closing procedures, reconciliations, analysis, and reporting
Analyze contracts and business transactions, prepare technical accounting memos, and ensure proper accounting treatment
Apply practical application of accounting standards
  • Collaboration and Reporting:
Provide essential financial reports and insights to management and FP&A teams
Develop internal reports on financial data analytics, including monthly flash reports and key financial metrics
Compare actual spend to budgets/forecasts
  • System Integration and Improvement:
Lead the implementation and integration of systems supporting business operations
Act as a subject matter expert on various tools and software, such as sales tax, consolidation, banking/treasury, credit card, and expense reports
  • Project Management:
Manage annual audit, tax processes, and improvement initiatives
Review and prepare audit/tax schedules, reconciliations, and analytics
Take a lead role in driving accounting-related business improvement projects
Qualifications
Results-driven accounting professional with exceptional attention to detail and integrity
Bachelor’s Degree with a focus on Accounting
Minimum 7 Years Of Progressive Accounting Experience
Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role, showcasing expertise in accounting close, financial reporting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
CPA designation preferred, with experience in public accounting; Strong knowledge of GAAP, familiarity with IFRS
Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
Proficiency with ERP systems, Tier 2 experience required, Oracle NetSuite experience highly desirable
Tech-savvy, including strong Excel skills (intermediate to advanced proficiency)
Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational abilities in a fast-paced environment
Effective verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service approach
Industry experience in retail, action sports, or manufacturing is advantageous
Comfortable navigating the dynamics of smaller companies within an international corporate structure
