Job Description

Account Executive (Hospitality) - Remote


Company Description: Steeped Coffee is the new standard in single-serve coffee. Steeped, Inc. is operating in the high-growth specialty coffee and single-serve coffee spaces and uses innovation to bring these two markets together for the first time. Steeped is located in Scotts Valley, CA (in the Santa Cruz area) and has developed a proprietary single-serve coffee method that is brewed in bags (similar to tea) and is entirely made from fully compostable materials. Steeped sells directly under the Steeped Coffee brand to D2C and B2B customers, while also licensing the Steeped Brewing Method and technology to a growing list of national and international coffee roasters and other private label partners.

We seek a highly motivated individual with experience hunting, managing, and closing new businesses to join our fast-paced, high-energy sales team. To be successful in this role, you must have a passion for innovation and a growing interest in the coffee industry. A successful Sales Account Executive can pursue, manage, and close new qualified business opportunities through the B2B Sales cycle.


Department Structure: Reports to the Director of Hospitality


Essential Functions: Include but are not limited to the following

  • Acute ability to follow up with prospective and current accounts
  • In collaboration with the Director of Hospitality, you will drive execution for a defined sales territory
  • Proactively identify and seek out prospects and build industry relationships within your territory to optimize revenue
  • Set up follow-up calls to review the next steps
  • Quota defined by VP of Sales + Director of Hospitality based on company/department goals
  • Lock in rollout/customer success strategy with all Stakeholders
  • Assist with tracking & following up with clients
  • Send proper onboarding Documents for review and confirmation
  • Onboarding New Clients
  • Minimum daily activity expectations: = 10 calls, 25 emails, schedule 2 appointments & conduct 2 appointments
  • Prepare Proposals
  • Responsible for hitting the quota
  • New order submission
  • AE will be responsible for new business development with hospitality and wholesale accounts.
  • Account Set up
  • Generate your own strategic prospect leads to qualify and close in given territories
  • Responsible for pipeline management, your pipeline revenue forecasting, and sales activity using Odoo, ZoomInfo & Outreach for maximum efficiency and visibility
  • Drive Negotiation Process
  • Perform high-volume outbound sales activities such as “hunting” (lead generation), cold calling, and qualifying opportunities in specified territories
  • Once the customer is won, the prospect is now turned over to Director for reorder
  • Present programs and tailor them to company needs
  • Represent the Steeped brand in the coffee industry by seeking out and participating in industry events such as trade shows


Minimum Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to serve and manage each essential duty satisfactorily.   • 5+ years of sales executive experience with a proven track record
  • Experience in delivering in-person or virtual sales presentations with excellence
  • Respect and expect accountability
  • Ability to learn critical software applications and sufficiently document activities in Company’s CRM


Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency with SalesForce or other CRM software such as the following:

  • Prior experience as an account executive with a track record of achieving sales quotas
  • Linked Sales Navigator
  • ZoomInfo Sales Enablement
  • Odoo CRM
  • Prior experience in coffee and beverage sales


Job Type and Salary Range:

  • Full-time, non-exempt, M-F
  • Salary range: Base $55k to $65k annually + Commissions
  • EOE

Physical requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Must be able to lift up 15-25 pounds at a time
  • Ability to sit for long periods (4-6 hours)
  • Comfortable/accommodating working environment (remote)
