Experience of working in the social housing sector, particularly with a focus on older people (desirable)

Hours: 35 hours per week/70 hours over two weeks (nine-day fortnight)

A good general standard of education with good GCSE passes, including in English and Maths

Hours: 16 hours per week

Previous, related experience in an educational organization, business, or government agency providing support to customer service and operations functions.

Knowledge of modern office routines, procedures, methods, equipment, and machines and devices and ability to adapt these to the department.

Reviews and responds to messages in the department email account

Serves on various committees to represent the department

Organizes and orders staff apparel and uniforms.

Oversees and schedules the day-to-day activities of student personnel within the office. May supervise student office assistants.

Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communications skills; the ability to convey and translate complex information for a variety of audiences.

Experience in issue campaigns, advocacy, base building organizing, electoral experience, and/or government.

Experience with multi-stakeholder collaboration and/or coalition building.

Build and maintain strong relationships with Local Progress members across a range of local jurisdictions.

Provide written and other updates to support fundraising for LP’s housing work.

Support other program areas as identified.

A graduate degree in a related field may substitute for one year of work experience.

Solar on Multifamily Affordable Housing (SOMAH); and

Comprehensive Affordable Multifamily Retrofit (CAMR)

Assist Sustainable Housing team staff and partner organizations in implementing SOMAH, CAMR and other programs as assigned.

Develop and implement statewide outreach strategies with the support of a direct supervisor and other Sustainable Housing team members.

Represent the California Housing Partnership in our role as representative of the SOMAH and CAMR programs.

Determines when there have been HAP overpayments to landlords and applies related retro-active rent charges;

Acts as initial point of contact for resolution to all community, owner, or participant concerns or complaints for caseload assigned;

Coordinate manager/department calendars and schedule appointments

Manage expense reports and code, sign and submit invoices (as required)

Minimum one year of experience in a clerical/administrative support position

Strong phone and computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Greet, assist and direct guests, employees and clients

Screen/route incoming calls and correspondences including mail, email and faxes; respond independently when possible

Provide case management duties required and as defined by CAH for each participant.

Additional duties as necessary to assist with the operation and management of the CAH programs.

Complete Intake process and develop case plans, budgets, and goal setting with participants monthly.

Assess housing barriers of individuals and families experiencing homelessness and assist with housing search.

Proved housing negotiations for rents, deposits, and lease agreements with landlords on the participants behalf, as needed.

Act as an advocate and liaison with landlords and third-party resources.

Working on projects and providing progress reports to management of programs that benefit low and moderate income persons;

Performing trend analysis, reporting findings, and written recommendations to management officials for improvements, implementation, and evaluation of program areas.

Use data systems to analyze and/or report results of education, outreach and communication improvements.
