Electro Mechanical Field Technician Jobs

Completing preventative, predictive, and reactive industrial maintenance throughout the facility

Installing, maintaining, testing, evaluating, and repairing various electrical components and systems

Operating standard maintenance tools such as power tools, electric tools, precision maintenance tools, preventative maintenance technology tools, etc.

Interpreting and understanding electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and/or operation manuals

Create and close work orders into asset management system with appropriate data to include labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used.

High School diploma or equivalent required. Typically, an associate degree or vocational technical training is preferred. Specialized skill training/certification preferred.

Proven experience in area of responsibility and successful demonstration of position and key responsibilities as presented above.

Repair and maintenance of Material Handling Equipment ( MHE ) including belt tracking, component a djustment/replacement, component lubrication, etc.

Complete preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures.

Present a high school diploma (if requested) or equivalent educational experience.

Daily job duties will vary day by day based on customer needs.

Perform product modifications on trains including their brake systems, coupler systems and door systems.

Support testing of railcars at different locations once they are delivered.

Study and comprehend the work instructions relating to the daily tasks while working alongside the railcar builder.

Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings and instructions.

React to work orders that are tracked through a company work order management system

Initiate and complete all work within the plant work order management system

Utilize work order management system to document periodic scheduled tasks

Must have good computer skills including MS office, PLC programing and CMMS experience

Associates/Technical Degree preferred or sufficient related work experience

Knowledge of proper use of slings and eyebolts preferred

Education and Qualifications / Skills and Competencies:

Ability to work without management oversight, (self starter)

Duties and Responsibilities (in the order of priority):

0-10 years related engineering experience

Autodesk Inventor 3-D CAD software experience preferred

Ability to achieve Customer 1st or Six Sigma certification

Facilitate continuous improvement activities through broad system knowledge and site-specific enhancements

Required: High school diploma with at 1-2 years experience in relevant electrical and/or mechanical role

Practical attitude and ability to learn new skills and tasks

Strong electrical (AC/DC, 3-Phase) and mechanical skills

Knowledge of wiring diagrams and electrical measuring

Mandatory overtime may be required due to operational requirements

Compliance experience with ESD, Security, Occupational, Health, and Environmental safety requirements

Minimum 5 years of related technical experience in electrical/electronics, electro-mechanical, or industrial maintenance

Associates degree in electrical/electronics, electro-mechanical, or industrial maintenance preferred, or relevant experience

Experience with component repair and motor and sensor uninstall and reinstall

Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and PLC ladder logic

Experience working with the necessary documentation and computer programs

Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing electro-mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles, including reading and interpreting technical schematics and blueprints.

Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs of electro-mechanical equipment, including but not limited to motors, conveyors, robotic systems, and control panels.

1st Shift (Mon - Fri 6:00 am - 2:30 pm)

May operate forklift, man-lift, welders, torches, powered and unpowered hand tools, and other similar equipment.

Instructs others on work instructions and specific techniques and may directly coordinate the work of others.

Inspects for quality, defects, and deviations from specifications.

Plan and coordinate manufacturing problems or ideas for operation efficiency improvement with management.

Support supervisor and Manager as needed.

Assembly of PBS Products and adhere to the rules.

Test assembled products, sub assembly and electromechanical equipment.

Support QC inspection of incoming parts.

Keep accurate records of products produced and finishing appropriate paperwork related to manufacturing.

J-STD Certification or experience with J-STD

IPC 620 Certification or experience with IPC-620

Knowledge of or experience with High Voltage Systems

Knowledge of or experience with lithium batteries

3+ years of relevant experience

Knowledge and ability to hand solder using proper techniques

Proven excellent time management skills working in a fast-paced deadline driven environment

Immediately report any potential safety hazards, operational concerns, and all accidents/injuries and near misses to production management

Provide timely & accurate information to management

Immediately report equipment or product issues to production management

Communicate scheduling needs to supervisors and/or production management

May include dotted-line relationships to facility, press or packaging management—and machinists and electricians

Support management of tools, equipment, and lab supplies (maintenance, calibrations, raw material stock)

5+ years experience in AUV or applicable field (robotics, aerospace, medical) as an electric / electro-mechanical technician

Strong experience working with printed circuit boards (PCBAs) and wiring harness manufacturing

Works well within a team dynamic and has good verbal / written communication and computer skills

Experience in sub-sea robotics (AUVs, UUVs, underwater equipment)

Experience working with electrical systems up to 400VDc

Maintain technical competence in advancing technology via frequent training courses, on-the-job training, and vendor schools.

Assist in resolving maintenance related process problems which may require the proficient operation of that equipment.

Associates degree in Electro-Mechanical technology or equivalent desired
