Electro-Mechanical Technician
Your role our team
The Electro Mechanical Technician is responsible for the completion of planned, preventive, and unplanned maintenance on a highly advanced automated material handling system in a distribution center environment. The ideal Tech is focused on maximizing system up-time and performance through safe and efficient execution of maintenance activities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Approach all tasks with proactive mindset versus reactive
- Approach all tasks and situations with a Safety First mindset
- Follow established escalation guidelines in the event of system downtime or irregular operations
- Support Operation Team through basic fault correction coaching and troubleshooting
- Assist in the installation of new or refurbishment of existing system components
- Facilitate continuous improvement activities through broad system knowledge and site-specific enhancements
- Understand material handling system flow and SPOF
- Participate in a broad array of electrical and mechanical tasks with minimal supervision
- Maximize system performance and up-time through effective execution of all maintenance-related activities
Ideal candidate profile
- Required: High school diploma with at 1-2 years experience in relevant electrical and/or mechanical role
- Preferred: Associates degree in industrial technology or related field with 2-4 years in relevant electrical and /or mechanical role
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong electrical (AC/DC, 3-Phase) and mechanical skills
- Ability to work in team environment
- Familiarity with electrics/mechanics in drive technology (motors/gears)
- Knowledge of wiring diagrams and electrical measuring
- Able to work with a wide assortment of computer systems (Microsoft Office Suite, proprietary system monitoring programs, etc.)
- Familiarity with control technology
- Practical attitude and ability to learn new skills and tasks
Scheduling & Availability
- Mandatory overtime may be required due to operational requirements
- Must be able to work all shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements
- Working in ambient (70 to 105°F) conditions
- Working at heights of up to 30-400 feet wearing fall-arrest gear and other PPE
- Lifting, pulling and pushing up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Continuous walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and standing
