Position Summary

The WIOA Youth Program Coordinator will assist students with career assessment tools, career exploration activities, exposure to area businesses and industry environments, and college experiences such as applications, enrollment and financial aid.

Salary Commensurate with education and experience according to ACCS Board of Trustees Salary Schedule E4/04.

(This is a grant-funded position. Continued employment is dependent on continued funding.)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Evaluate the effectiveness of programs. Plan, schedule, and implement activities for program. Supervise and lead activities for program.?Recruit prospective program participants. Coordinate community relations and partnerships that promote the WIOA Youth Program. Arrange program advertising. Monitor the use of equipment and facilities. Prepare a plan for program activities. Prepare and maintain the program budget. Prepare financial and program reports. Record information on and prepare reports concerning WIOA Youth Program, costs, numbers of participants and equipment and facility use. Provide monthly and yearly reports about programs and opportunities. Ensure that all programs and activities are implemented according to relevant legislation, policies and procedures. Work with local career centers in providing and coordinating program and participant information and reporting. Meet with program participants on a daily basis. Provide all required documentation in a timely manner, which may include participant follow-up, outcome evaluation, client contact sheets, and evaluations.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in business administration or related field from a regionally accredited institution required. Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field from a regionally accredited institution preferred. At least one-year full-time work experience in the field is required. Experience in education and/or working with youths and young adults preferred. Effective oral and written communication skills are required. Experience in the following areas preferred: Microsoft Office, Work, Excel and PowerPoint.

Sick Leave
All regular full-time non-instructional staff earns one day of sick leave which is the equivalent of 8 hours of sick leave per month. Unused sick leave is rolled over to the following year. Upon retirement, employees are allowed to convert unused sick time into service time for the purpose of retirement. Retirement
The TRS was established in 1939 to provide benefits to qualified persons employed by state-supported educational institutions. Responsibility for the management and administration of the TRS is vested in its Board of Control. The Boards of Control elect the Secretary-Treasurer who serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the RSA and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the RSA. Tuition Assistance
This tuition waiver program is designed for all full-time instructional and non-instructional employees of The Alabama College System and the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education and their dependents as defined under by policy. The program will be coordinated by each institution for employees within The Alabama College System and the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education. An application form for the tuition assistance program is available in the Human Resources office and should be completed prior to registration for classes.

Employees/Dependents at two-year colleges:
  • 2/3 waived after 2nd year
  • 1/3 waived after 1st year
  • 3/3 waived after 3rd year
