Characteristics of Position:
The Program Director- Youth Services is a professional position providing leadership, direction, supervision, and management services for youth assigned the organization's addiction receiving, residential services and/or child welfare (foster care) programs. Accountabilities include coordination of services, contracts, budgets and other administrative services.
Pre-requisite Requirements:
- Valid FL Driver License
- Master's degree in human services. business administration or related field.
- Two (2) years leadership experience in a youth residential setting.
Preferred Attributes:
- Leadership experience in a program licensed by the Department of Children (DCF) or Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ).
- Active Florida license as LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT; or current Certification Addiction Professional (CAP)
- Prior experience working with youth in a child welfare setting.
Supervision: This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer. Supervision is provided to program managers, clinical and nursing staff.
Core Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Develops a program culture consistent with mission and values of organization.
- Performs performance management tasks including supervision, evaluations and discipline of staff assigned to program/unit.
- Works with employees to set and communicate performance standards that are specific and measurable.
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, or local laws, as well as rules, regulations and requirements of licensing sources, contract funding sources and/or accrediting sources.
- Responsible for quality assurance measures and outcomes relevant to the unit's service delivery, including clinical care and related documentation.
- Develops and ensures implementation of policies and procedures to ensure efficient program operation.
- Provides supervision, direction and instruction to program/unit supervisor and/or other support personnel assigned to the program.
- Engages and supports employees in their efforts to achieve job goals (e.g., by providing resources, and removing obstacles).
- Participates in regular quality and process improvement meetings with other directors, administrators and senior leadership; participates on external committees, as required.
- Routinely coordinates with community partners and stakeholders for effective service delivery and reporting activities.
- Ensures contractual performance outcomes are satisfied for assigned programs.
- Participates in recruitment and selection of employees assigned to program/unit.
- May participates in train-the-trainer classes to obtain certifications necessary for required staff development activities.
- Implements or supports various change management activities (e.g., communications, education, team development, coaching) consistent with business' mission.
- Prepares internal reports related to service delivery, budgeting, health/safety, on-the-job-injuries and other reportable incidents.
- Performs related work as required/assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to make critical decisions in high stress situations
- Ability to prepare reports and maintain records; interpret regulations; and evaluate compliance with prevention/treatment service provider contracts.
Physical Requirements:
- Physically able to participate in crisis intervention curriculum and CPR/First Aid training and able to apply same to work setting.
- Prolonged periods of sitting
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must pass a background investigation and pre-employment drug test.
Travel:
- Frequent travel required between ACTS and community partner locations. Minimal overnight travel to attend management team meetings, conferences, and/or training.
