Job Description
CookUnity is the first chef-to-you marketplace connecting the country's most talented chefs with eaters (consumers). We're changing meal delivery by bringing small-batch, restaurant-quality meals to eaters across the country. Every week, a diverse collective of all-star chefs craft their signature, ready-to-eat dishes for an elevated at-home dining experience.
CookUnity is home to more than 100 of NYC, LA, Austin, Chicago, Atlanta, Seattle and Miami’s most inspired and innovative chefs. Through a weekly subscription, eaters can select from a diverse, ever-changing menu of hundreds of hand-crafted meals. Our chefs create dishes that cater to a wide variety of palates and dietary preferences, so the best part of dining out can be enjoyed by everyone.
Delivering more than 1M meals per month and growing 3x YoY, CookUnity is also helping improve the livelihood of working chefs, tripling their income, enabling the growth of their own teams and personal brands. And believing that healthy food fuels stronger communities, CookUnity partners with Food Bank For New York City, the city's major hunger-relief organization, working to end food insecurity across all five boroughs.
The Role
As VP of Branding, you will be the person leading our brand positioning and development, to become one of the dominant brands in food for decades to come. We are looking for someone who believes in our vision of a marketplace that unites chefs and consumers. We aspire to create a new category with CookUnity to democratize access to chefs and great food around the world and we want a brand leader that can relentlessly craft this brand from the inside out.
You will be responsible for creating and telling the story of CookUnity. You should believe one of the most amazing human experiences is eating and sharing delicious food, and you must be able to translate that experience through a dynamic branding strategy.
You will work side by side with the company's founders and executive team. You are going to build and develop a team and also work hands-on with Product, Growth Marketing, Design, CX and Portfolio.
Your goal as a brand marketer is to leverage what’s abundant for us (chefs and amazing food) for original content and creative execution. Come help us build a unique brand experience that drives awareness and trust in CookUnity’s novel service!
Responsibilities
  • Craft the set of experiences that enhance and surround the food along the user journey by blending online and offline strategies to create a holistic experience of the brand
  • Measure and drive demonstrable business results and ROI through brand building and marketing. Metric tracking like Brand Awareness, Brand sentiment, etc.
  • Build organic awareness through a media and communications strategy (PR, social media), content creation of unique assets around our food and chefs, advertising, and collaboration with Performance Marketing on digital marketing strategies
  • Build a virality engine through strategic partnerships
  • Manage our online reputation and improve the Consideration phase of the funnel
  • Lead our Creative Studio and manage external partners to provide the right creatives for the right distribution channels to all teams
  • Responsible for the brand positioning, voice and brand value proposition. Tell our story in a precise, sophisticated and engaging way
  • Lead and participate in customer insights efforts to deepen our understanding of the job to be done
  • In collaboration with Product and Growth marketing, support the design of each touchpoint of our end to end customer journey to fully express our unique value proposition and brand essence
  • Establish CookUnity as the primary destination for the best chefs and best meals delivered at home in America
  • Invest in long term loyalty by building and engaging our unique community
  • Contribute to the expansion of the Chef Community and help them build brands that engage directly with consumers
  • Build Integrated marketing calendar, incorporating brand communication themes, product launches and chef communications. Develop & execute Campaigns and communication plans that push stories the brand is pursing
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of marketing experience with premium and/or technology brands
  • Proven ability to lead an innovative and disruptive brand's end-to-end marketing needs, including strategy, creative, production, analytics
  • Business savvy, with a proven ability to create and execute full funnel marketing strategies
  • Success working with technical product teams and digital marketing technologies spread around the world

Compensation
  • Pay Range for this position: $200,000 - $300,000 per year.
  • All final pay rates will be determined by candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
