Vp, R&D Brand Make Up

This role will lead the brand facing make up efforts creating a new functional team within the Make Up R&D organization that seeks to improve innovation sufficiency and competitive advantage of the makeup organization.
He/She/They will translate the brand innovation needs/plans and all concepts and technical briefs into R&D technical workstreams and will connect all the R&D capabilities to provide brands with breakthrough technical solutions tailored to the brand’s unique equities.
The Vice president of R&D end to end management will create a new functional team within the Make Up R&D organization with the objectives of

• Connect all available R&D capabilities to provide innovation solutions to brands that meet their needs in all innovation aspects (breakthrough, time to market, speed)
• Develop deep understanding of the different brand identities & innovation needs to create technology glidepaths & action plans.
• Apply, through team leadership and direction, management systems & governance that foster organized, disciplined, innovative and results- oriented research and development.
• Partner with the brands to understand their innovation needs in all make up subcategories and translate this into technical action plans for the MU R&D organization.
• Define role & responsibilities for his/her/their organization, recruitment, and training of resources, establish clear interactions, role & responsibilities split w other R&D functions.
• Act as a single point of contact for all global R&D functions (formulation, clinical, regulatory, safety, AT) to ensure clarity, accuracy, and speed of communication to Brand partners in R&D matters.

Qualifications

• 0-20% travel
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage competing priorities and focus resources/time on the most impactful outcomes.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to influence.
• 15+ years of experience
• University Degree (BA or BS) in Natural Sciences. Postgraduate studies strong plus but not required
• Ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed and complex organization.
• Collaborative and able to build relationships with various internal and external stakeholders, process strong lateral influencing ability.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $200,000 to $342,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
