Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Transom Capital Group (Transom) is seeking a Vice President, Portfolio Talent and Culture. Transom is a Los Angeles-based private equity firm with an operational focus to private equity investing in the middle-market. The Transom Capital team has a proven track record of investing in and guiding the growth of lower-middle-market businesses. Key to this success is our unique hands-on approach to partnership that provides operational involvement and support to each portfolio company without overwhelming the management team.


Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses and developing and making recommendations
  • Presenting self to both internal and external workplace in a positive and professional manner that reflects the values of Transom Capital Group
  • Assisting portfolio company executives with pursuit of value creation by supporting strategic initiatives through the development of workplans and implementation of strategies with a focus on cultural transformations in line with Transom’s ARMOR process, portfolio executive recruitment, HR systems and process optimization, cost restructuring, and post-acquisition programmatic management.
  • Leading Executive-Level recruiting across portfolio companies; recruiting will be hands on and a “roll-up the sleeves” exercise, requiring you to directly execute recruiting efforts and processes for executive portfolio roles. This role will be tasked with running searches by tapping into your professional network, leveraging online talent resources (e.g., LinkedIn, Indeed, Monster, etc), and sourcing candidates through other primary sources.
  • Analyzing portfolio company performance and talent/admin systems gaps
  • Supporting diligence process through evaluation of talent, HR processes, and admin systems and development of post-acquisition restructuring plans
  • Working with Transom’s portfolio company management teams to improve outcomes related to EBITDA performance


Education AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Track record of implementing process improvements with focus on HR and post-merger, divestiture, and restructuring situations, ideally withing a private equity setting.
  • Bachelors Degree – preferably in HR, Business, Marketing, and/or Finance.
  • 4-6 years of professional experience at a leading executive search firm (e.g., Korn Ferry, Spencer Stuart)
