As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Spacecraft Development to lead our spacecraft development team and drive the realization of our ambitious goals.


Role Overview:

As the Vice President of Spacecraft Development, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of ExLabs. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire spacecraft development lifecycle, from initial concept and design to manufacturing, integration, and testing. Your strategic vision, technical expertise, and leadership skills will be instrumental in driving innovation, ensuring technical excellence, and delivering high-quality spacecraft solutions.


Responsibilities:


Leadership and Strategy:

  • Drive innovation and identify opportunities for technological advancements in spacecraft design, systems integration, and mission capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to align spacecraft development objectives with the company's vision and business goals.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for spacecraft development initiatives, aligning them with the company's overall mission and objectives.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversee the overall spacecraft development roadmap.


Technical Expertise:

  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and advancements in the field of spacecraft development, identifying areas for potential integration into ExLabs' technologies.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers and scientists to design, develop, and test advanced spacecraft platforms.


Project Management:

  • Monitor project progress, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement strategies to ensure timely delivery of high-quality spacecraft platforms.
  • Oversee the execution of spacecraft development projects, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and cross-functional teamwork to ensure seamless integration across various teams involved in spacecraft development.


Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with business development to identify and pursue new opportunities for spacecraft development, including potential partnerships and collaborations.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and government agencies to foster strategic partnerships, secure funding opportunities, and participate in industry forums and conferences.
  • Represent ExLabs in industry events, conferences, and technical forums to showcase our expertise and promote our spacecraft development capabilities.


Qualifications:


  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Experience in managing budgets, resources, and schedules to ensure project success.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field (advanced degree preferred) with a minimum of 7 years of related experience.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams
  • Deep understanding of spacecraft systems, subsystems, and mission requirements
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements in the aerospace sector
  • Proven experience in spacecraft design, development, and execution, with a track record of successfully leading and delivering complex projects.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices in spacecraft development.
  • Strategic mindset with a keen eye for identifying emerging trends and technologies that can enhance spacecraft capabilities.

The full-time annual salary range for this job is:

$165,000 - $200,000 + Initial Equity (in addition to employee equity program)
