Vice President Of Live Operations

We are working with a startup poultry company to help them identify a talented Vice President of Operations. Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful candidate is accountable for overseeing the Operations Teams, which encompass Live Operations and Plant Operations. Their responsibilities encompass both existing operations and the implementation of new capabilities or facility improvements according to the strategic plan.

At the core of their responsibilities lies the task of establishing and enhancing processes, granting decision-making authority, while managing and evaluating the team's performance to ensure the delivery of high-quality products within or below the allocated budget. To achieve this, they will adopt a high-performance work team approach, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and actively collaborating with other leaders on the Leadership Team.

As a key member of the Leadership Team, the VP of Operations plays a crucial role in guiding the company's capacity and capability to deliver products in line with the directives of the VP of Sales & Marketing and the VP of Supply Chain. Working in conjunction with the VP of FSQR, they lead their team to uphold the company's stringent food safety standards, surpassing the requirements set forth by the USDA, SQF, and other certification bodies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers, managers, customers (internal and external), and upper management.
• 10+ years of leadership experience demonstrating authentic leadership with humility and the spirit of a mentor.
• Strong analytical skills needed to create clear logical insights from diverse data sets
• Six Sigma, Lean, or other continuous improvement skills are necessary.
• 10-15+ years in poultry manufacturing, coupled with a high level of aptitude and interest in the live operations of a poultry processing plant and live operations.
• Change Leadership: Actively intervenes to create and energize positive change. Leads by example.
• Performance Management: Fosters elevated level of accountability through a structured performance management system. Provides frequent constructive and positive feedback.
