Job Description
About the Position:
Vice President of Hospital MedicineOur client, a premiere not-for-profit health system is looking for a dedicated Vice President of Hospital Medicine who will be responsible for, developing and implementing short and long term strategic goals and policies for the department. This is an inaugural position, and the ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in areas such as leading strong hospital medicine programs, physician relations, quality improvement and managing strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:Develop tools and processes to align hospital medicine providers around highest quality care, patient satisfaction, efficiency, and improved resource utilization.Responsible for assisting physician partners in strategic planning, governance, quality improvement, policy development and implementation.Oversees of all aspects of clinical, marketing, financial, facility, information systems and human resources functions as it relates to division or area(s) of responsibility.Actively identifies and champions opportunities for improved hospital medicine physician relations, efficiency, and engagement.Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of the organizationDevelops a quality structure and implement safety and quality guidelines for the Hospital Medicine Division in collaboration with the Chief Quality Officer and other service line leadersCollaborates with the Vice President of Medical affairs the VP of Hospital Medicine will assist in the development and maintenance of commonly used order sets and pathways as well as participates in utilization management projects.Understand and inform co-management programs at TGH to align with our overall mission and goalsPromotes the safest most innovative care in the Hospital Medicine divisionCollaborates with the COO and VP of Operations in day-to-day management of patient movement and systematic shifts for long-term solutions to capacity challenges.Participates in all quality initiatives as appropriate.Supports regulatory compliance, key documentation improvements for quality improvement.Serves as the voice of Hospital Medicine in key hospital meetings and initiatives assessing the needs and resources this group need for continued success

Key QualificationsMD/DO degree requiredCompletion of accredited Internal Medicine Residency ProgramMust be Board Certified upon hireHospitalist experienceMust have an active FL Medical License within 6 months of hire10 Years of progressive leadership experience within the inpatient healthcare environment is required7 Years in a formal management positionComputer proficiency: Working knowledge of Word and ExcelMBA or equivalent required or willing to obtain within 3 years of hire.Proven track record of successful collaborative projects or multidisciplinary committees
