Vice President, Market & Portfolio Insights

The Market & Portfolio Insights (MPI) team is responsible for uniting BlackRock’s market research and unique wealth portfolio viewpoint to create actionable insights for BlackRock’s U.S. Wealth Advisory business.

MPI is seeking a talented writer to translate our best ideas into client-friendly narratives, working closely with the rest of the team on financial advisor- and end investor-focused thought leadership.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Write timely insights content that explains complex market and/or portfolio concepts to advisors and end investors
• Contribute to team efforts to distill market insights into key portfolio implications for financial advisors
• Edit deeper dive portfolio construction pieces
• Flag key market events or dynamics that influence the way financial advisors run portfolios and/or talk to their clients about their portfolios

Skills & Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in related field
• Excellent writing skills for investment audiences and the ability to tailor writing style for different audiences
• High level of self-motivation, with strong integrity & ethics
• Strong understanding of market dynamics
• At least 5-7 years of asset management industry experience
• Effective team player; able to work with people of all levels

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $142,500 - $190,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model

BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 3 days in the office each week, with the flexibility to work from home up to 2 days a week; some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities. Beginning in September, all employees will shift to at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. We remain focused on increasing the impactful moments that arise when we work together in person – aligned with our commitment to performance and innovation.
