Job Purpose


BBC StoryWorks is the award-winning commercial brand studio within BBC Studios advertising division responsible for working with brands developing, producing and delivering commercial content across our international digital and television platforms including BBC News and BBC.com, as well as representing other BBC brands as required.


VP StoryWorks Americas, provides leadership to a substantial and talented team based in New York reporting into the SVP Sales Americas, working hand in hand with the SVP StoryWorks Global in delivering content-led revenue across the region. The role is responsible for team structure and resourcing, team development and the overall production spend for the Americas and contribution towards revenues targets of the Americas business. The team is responsible for orchestrating and overseeing the delivery of all aspects of the production of client campaigns from the initial briefing through production to the campaign itself.


The role operates in a highly matrixed environment, with multiple key stakeholders across Editorial Ad Sales, Marketing, Insights, Planning, Ops, Product, Audience, Legal and Finance and the other divisions of BBC Studios. Ultimately this role is responsible for ensuring the most effective delivery of the content-led component of Americas Ad Sales revenue, contributing significantly to the overall revenue and profit of the business.

Principal Accountabilities


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities


  • Line manage the creative, strategy, production, and project and campaign management teams in StoryWorks Americas, esuring they drive and deliver the content component of Americas Ad sales revenue targets
  • Support the global BBC StoryWorks division in defining and delivering award-winning world-class content campaigns for clients


Scope and Impact


  • Oversee the effective legal and project management frameworks for the delivery of successful campaigns
  • Ensure the effective management of all matters relating to compliance regarding solutions offered
  • Display patience and cultural sensitivity in communications with agencies/clients, in-country resources and colleagues
  • Demonstrate BBC Values in a all dealing with colleagues, clients, and agencies


Relationships


  • Consult with the editorial teams on new business opportunities and provide expert advice on BBC StoryWorks' creative and production capabilities
  • Work in lockstep with the SVP Americas Sales (and SVP Global StoryWorks to whom you have a dotted line) to ensure the effective response and delivery of campaigns that form a vital core of overall Americas advertising revenue
  • Work closely with the editorial teams across BBC.com and BBC World News to understand the editorial strategy and opportunities, and to help ensure effective execution and campaign delivery
  • Be in continual contact with the regional Sales VPs to ensure effective support and project management, and adherence to contribution targets with respect to content costs
