Job Description
Our client a prestigious NYC based investment manager has an immediate need for a VP of Information Technology & Support Engineering with 10 years of progressive IT leadership experience in a financial services environment. This is a newly created role in an organization that is growing rapidly and requires a technologist who can mange multiple technical initiatives , projects and resources simultaneously.


Position Overview:


We are seeking an articulate, and detail-oriented individual to join the IT Support Professional team, as a Vice President, providing leadership and best in class support within a fast paced NYC investment management environment.


Efficient technical support to a team of Investment and other professionals, who are using proprietary and other client-server applications. Primarily based in our New York offices and remote support to those outside of New York.


Responsibilities:
  • Work with parent company colleagues and vendors to help resolve technical issues
  • Set up and configuration of new computers, including the installation of application software
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and workstation configuration issues, diverting matters to other support areas within the organization as necessary, and escalating to management where critical, including but not limited to:
  • Answering pings, calls, or responding to help-desk support ticket requests in a timely manner
  • Assisting with various special projects as needed, and other miscellaneous technology support duties
  • Troubleshoot, isolate, and research problems, recommending solutions
  • Track and update IT specific inventory, links to drives, printers, other troubleshooting short cuts
  • Creating documentation on specific technology support references, how-to guides, and trainings
  • Set up/remove user accounts on certain systems and/or applications, e.g., Box.com
  • Onboarding and training of new employees in the BSP technology landscape
  • Exercise good judgment when dealing with sensitive employee security information, as well as company documentation, in keeping with corporate data security and compliance requirements
  • Effectively troubleshoot across the Microsoft O365 suite, and other applications and platforms. Specific experience with the following is a plus: Windows 10; Microsoft Office 365; Okta (or other Single Sign On “SSO”); MS Endpoint Manager (Intune, or other mobile device management platform “MDM”); Active Directory; VPN (e.g., Global Protect, Cisco AnyConnect); Audio/Video (A/V) (e.g., Crestron, Polycom); Bloomberg (installation, add-ins, troubleshooting)


Qualifications:


  • Excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to work collaboratively with strong customer service
  • Strong work ethic, dependability, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to problem solve and think creatively
  • A self-starter quality with a strong sense of urgency on time-sensitive responsibilities
  • A Bachelor’s degree, with a major in technology studies preferred, and strong GPA
  • The successful candidate will ideally possess: 10-15 Years of experience with minimally 5 years spent in leadership of up to 10 technical professionals in addition to the below prerequisites
  • The ability to take initiative, be proactive and anticipate needs; a “no task is too big/small” mentality
  • Good time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task
