TS Grale Global Executive Search are partnering with a top ranked ENR Listed Engineering, Design & Planning Consultancy on a retained basis to deliver a search for a Vice President of Transit & Rail in the Northeast Region (NY/NJ).

Our client is seeking a growth-oriented, entrepreneurial, and experienced leader of transit and rail who will manage transit and rail projects, including conceptual, preliminary, and final engineering design involving light rail transit, bus rapid transit, commuter rail, intercity passenger rail and freight rail improvements. The ideal candidate will manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers and designers in the development of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a variety of rail and transit infrastructure projects, and strategically pursuing new work to grow the practice and increase market share.

Responsibilities:

• Manage multiple concurrent projects of various topics and complexity.
• Manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers, planners, and scientists.
• Develop, manage, and maintain project schedules and budgets.
• Manage and prepare technical and cost proposals.
• Prepare and maintain resource plans.
• Take an active role in the development and mentoring of the Transit and Rail group staff.
• Represent company at regional conferences, seminars, and industry events.
• Take an active role in business development and identify planning prospects.
• Manage financial progress through timely submittal of invoices and progress reports and initiation of change orders for out-of-scope services.
• Lead development of project deliverables and provide quality control.
• Prepare and deliver technical reports, analyses, and presentations.

Qualifications:

• 15+ years of progressive professional technical experience in rail/transit engineering in the Northeast.
• Proven ability to manage a multidisciplinary team.
• PE licensure required
• Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations and programs.
• Demonstrated and progressive relationships with NY-area clients including NYCT, MTA, LIRR, Metro-North, NJ TRANSIT, and PATH.
• BS in Civil Engineering or related field required.
