The Vice President, Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing our supply chain operations, including forecasting, demand planning and procurement as well as inbound and outbound transportation, to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods to our customers. This role executes the strategy and vision to expand and evolve Brother’s supply chain function. This individual reports to the Senior Vice President, Integrated Supply Chain Operations & Technical Solutions and works collaboratively with the executive team to develop and drive transformation initiatives to satisfy customer demand and provide innovative solutions. The Vice President, Supply Chain oversees all groups within the supply chain function and is responsible for inspiring the teams to drive organizational effectiveness and growth. This individual plays a key role in the success and lifecycle management of Brother’s supply chain and logistics function.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Vision

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to supply chain and distribution operations
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, carriers, and logistics providers to ensure the timely and cost effective delivery of goods
  • Manage inventory levels to meet demand, while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory
  • Lead the supply chain function by developing and communicating a clear vision across functional teams and stakeholders to drive successful business processes and growth
  • Manage and oversee our 3PL vendors to ensure they meet our performance expectations and contractual obligations
  • Optimize transportation and distribution networks to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of goods
  • Manage across different stakeholders and functional areas for alignment and focus
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies that support the overall business objectives of the company across the America’s
  • Deploy new processes, standards, and operational plans for the Supply Chain Management function

Leadership

  • Act as facilitator, coach and mobilizer in the Business Plan Review process
  • Provide strong leadership with focus on increasing distribution capacities while reducing costs and improving service
  • Lead and manage all aspects of transportation, warehousing, and distribution across the Brother Americas supply chain network
  • Responsible for the performance and results of each diverse team within the supply chain function
  • Evaluate and implement new supply chain capabilities and tools
  • Responsible for the achievement of key business metrics; performance to financial budget/forecast, capital tied to inventory, inventory balance sheet, On-Time-In-Full, traditional planning, purchasing, distribution and warehouse measures of effectiveness
  • Represent Brother at key Senior Leadership interactions with cross functional teams on behalf of the Supply Chain function
  • Work collaboratively with senior and functional leaders to implement innovative solutions and improvements supporting all channels to achieve revenue and business growth
  • Create an environment of collaboration, innovative thinking and creative problem-solving

Continuous Improvement

  • Focus on improving the effectiveness and efficiency of Brother’s supply chain operations
  • Implement best practices to support integrated business planning solutions
  • Develop and manage supply chain performance metrics to monitor and improve performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
  • Assess the current and future supply chain landscape and business functionality to develop keen insights to identify areas for improvement

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field

Experience

Minimum 15 years Varied corporate experience spanning the following areas:

  • Experience leading high performing functional teams
  • Experience managing supply chain operations, logistics, and 3PL vendors
  • Experience in developing and implementing global supply chain planning processes and managing deployment across a nationwide distribution network

Software/Technical Skills

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • SAP S4 Hana or equivalent supply chain management software and technology

Other Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge with supply chain logistics best practices and emerging trends
  • Strong leadership and management skills with experience leading cross functional teams
  • Highly analytical with track record of managing based on facts and data
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing supply chain strategies that drive business results
  • Ability to manage through complexity to identify solutions and deliver results

This role will be a hybrid role. Subject to business needs, employees may work remotely up to two days per week. Assigned office days will be determined by managers.
