Job Description
Summary About the Position: This is a permanent position for the Army Sustainment Command for their Department for Operations Division Training and Programs Branch. Responsibilities Develop policy, instructions and procedures governing the management of assigned training programs, to include coordination of intern/trainee requirements and training rotations. Develop, implement, and monitor utilization of resources. Develop and administer assigned training and certification programs to modernize the skill base. Coordinate with a variety of training sources, to include government, non-government, college, university, and distance learning vendors to develop and implement training plans. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Experience for the GS-11: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work required in this position. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as: : Executing a wide variety of organizational development initiatives; Assists in advising management on training and workforce development; Applying education and training policies and procedures; Participating in developing policies and procedures of assigned training programs, Supporting relationships with a variety of training sources to carry out successful learning opportunities involving educational partnerships with area colleges and/or universities; utilizing training systems to track training allocations, completion and set up classes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education Substitution for Specialized Experience: Ph.D. or equivalent graduate degree or three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited college or university, in a related field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Specialized Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts) Experience for the GS-12: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work required in this position. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as: Overseeing, planning and executing a wide variety of organizational development initiatives; advising management on training and workforce development; Managing and applying all aspects of education and training policies and procedures; Developing policies and procedures of assigned training programs, Coordinating with a variety of training sources to carry out successful learning opportunities involving educational partnerships with area colleges and/or universities; utilizing training systems to track training allocations, completion and set up classes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Employee Development Manages and Organizes Information Planning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
