Job Description
What to Expect
Tesla’s Localization Team is looking for a Test Engineer focused around User Interface Software. Join the talented team that is responsible for Localization and UI content management for the global markets. The ideal candidate combines excellent software testing skills with strong automation scripting knowledge, as well as a passion for electric vehicles and language.
What You’ll Do
  • Investigate issues reported by customers in the field, internal test engineers, and your own testing.
  • Find software bugs through manual testing, automated scripting, and report investigation.
  • Develop detailed test plans to validate Tesla’s User Interface software.
  • Develop test scripts to automate the User Interface.
  • Improve existing vehicle testing strategies.
  • Execute functional and regression tests as a part of release testing and triage results.
  • Develop framework to improve automation pipeline.
  • Validate vehicle functionality.
  • Integrate existing automation results with daily/weekly reports.
  • Identify effective test strategies for new features being delivered to customers.
What You’ll Bring

  • Excellent communication skills and very detail oriented.
  • Very comfortable with Linux environments and hardware-based testing setups.
  • Passionate about troubleshooting failures to determine root cause.
  • Bilingual in any language is a PLUS
  • 1+ years Software Testing experience.
  • Passionate about improving the customer experience.
  • BS in Computer Science, Physics, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Nanotechnology, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field or proof of exceptional skills in related fields, with practical engineering experience.
  • Experience with one or more scripting languages such as Perl, Ruby, Python, or Bash.
  • 1+ years of Automated scripting experience.
  • Demonstrable experience solving difficult QA problems (scalability, reliability, reporting, parallelization, etc).
