Job Description

Are you a Manufacturing Engineer who is looking to leverage your skills with a global organization?

If so, Trane Technologies is seeking to hire a Manufacturing Engineer – Run Test at our Clarksville, TN facility. Our Clarksville facility manufactures commercial HVAC products.

As a Manufacturing Engineer – Run Test, you will develop, support, and implement Clarksville site run test operations. It will support product launches, VA/VE projects, cost out and productivity projects as well as day to day run test support. In addition to the above items this position will be especially focused on implementing/supporting Universal Tester implementation and improvement projects to meet product and productivity requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain electrical system interfaces between test stands and unit side components
  • Key contributor for planning and transition to production for NPD/VAVE/Replacement using TTPDP, TTPPM, 3P, 7-ways and other BOS tools; Driving to best in class unit run test technology in a Lean environment.
  • Provide technical assistance and leadership to the planning and purchase of new manufacturing equipment relative to run test operations.
  • Deliver project relevant manufacturing NPD related capital expense plan and manage implementation.
  • Review engineering designs for new product run test. Work with design engineering and universal test team to ensure that the design can be tested in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Ability to support any shift as work assignments dictate.
  • This role requires the individual to support testing on the manufacturing floor for long periods of time.
  • Review engineering changes to existing products. Determine the effects of the change on the products performance as well as on manufacturing. Update the run test and manufacturing documentation and processes to support the changes.
  • Assists internal and external suppliers with run test process. Troubleshoot to determine root cause and formulate appropriate corrective action. Ensure final process is capable and stable.
  • Ensure all investments meet their expected return to the business, including on time, on cost, with expected quality.
  • Minimal travel as needed for job assignments

Qualifications:

  • Experience with electrical trouble shooting (Schematic reading, Hi Pot testing)
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering preferred, other degrees considered on an exception basis
  • Database administration (Access, Oracle, Microsoft Server) required
  • Software development (VB.net, C#, AutoCAD) required, (CREO, PLC) preferred
  • Experience whit software and database driven systems. Computer set up for testing
  • Familiarity with HVAC products, and their control systems, preferred
  • Preferred 3-5+ years of experience in supply chain/manufacturing/operations/

Base Pay Range: $75,000 - $95,000
