As a QA Test Engineer at Octo, you will support a federal client and have experience in the coordination and execution of test events following approved test plans, procedures and scripts. Must have knowledge and skills to ensure that test environments are set up accurately. Must be able to create test reports. The QA/Test Engineer must be able to test IT hardware, software, systems and networks.
Responsibilities:
- Test environment management: Set up and maintain test environments for Oracle, WebLogic, and Java-based systems. Coordinate with system administrators to ensure the availability and readiness of test environments. Manage test data and ensure the integrity and privacy of sensitive information.
- Test automation and continuous improvement: Develop and maintain automated test scripts using suitable test automation frameworks and tools. Continuously enhance test automation coverage and efficiency. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices for testing in Oracle, WebLogic, and Java environments.
- Test execution and defect management: Execute test cases and scenarios to verify system functionality, performance, and reliability. Identify, report, and track defects using appropriate defect management tools. Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure timely defect resolution.
- Test planning and strategy: Develop test plans and strategies for testing Oracle, WebLogic, and Java-based applications and systems. Collaborate with stakeholders to define test objectives, requirements, and acceptance criteria. Identify and prioritize test cases based on business requirements and technical specifications.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, technical documentation and problem-solving abilities.
- Candidate should be a self-motivated, detail-oriented, responsible team-player with strong relationship management skills.
- Experience developing test plans and strategies for Oracle, WebLogic, and Java-based applications and systems.
- Experience executing test cases and scenarios and using defect management tools to identify, report, and track defects.
- Experience collaborating with stakeholders to define test requirements and acceptance criteria, along with developers and stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure timely defect resolution.
- Experience creating, maintaining, and ensuring the availability of test environments for Oracle, WebLogic, and Java-based systems. Experience managing test data to ensure integrity and privacy of sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently and work within a dynamic team environment.
- Experience developing, maintaining, continually enhancing, and developing best practices for automated test scripts using suitable test automation frameworks and tools in Oracle, WebLogic, and Java environments.

- Experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs and/or other federal organizations.
- Strongly prefer experience with Agile methodology and Scrum approach
Years of Experience: Requires 5-8 years' related QA and testing experience (See "Requirements").
Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other Technical discipline, OR a minimum of 8 years equivalent work experience.
Location: Remote within the United States. Must have reliable internet service that allows for effective telecommuting as needed.
Clearance: Ability to obtain government clearance.
