Job Description
Since 1953, the physicians and staff of the Northeast Georgia Diagnostic Clinic have been dedicated to providing compassionate, innovative, high quality healthcare to the adult population of Gainesville and the surrounding communities of the Northeast Georgia region.

Responsible for performing a variety of administrative duties for physicians and other members of the clinic; can have phone contact or direct contact with patients and other clients of the Clinic.
  • Prepares and processes correspondence between patient and provider.
  • Assists pod staff with EMR tasks and rooming procedures.
  • Provides support services to patients.
  • Books, coordinates and reschedules patient’s appointments.
  • Performs secretarial/clerical duties in a medical group.
  • Answers routine medical inquiries from patients.
  • Answers telephone, screen calls, takes messages, and provides information.
  • Requests, sends and receives patients’ medical records.
  • Relays necessary messages to staff via the Electronic Medical Records System or appropriate avenue.
  • Obtains, verifies, and updates patient information.
  • Answers routine medical questions regarding patient appointments and testing.
  • Maintains and updates current information on physician's schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled properly.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures. Skill in operating the phone system, computer, fax machine and copy machine. Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems; Ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public.
  • High school degree or equivalent.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED
  • Minimum of two years of computer experience in a medical office setting
